True. I kind of lucked into mine. 1987-89 (IIRC) is what I would look for. Swap in some Discovery axles (24 spline VS RRC 10 spline) and be done. They got the LT230 transfer case (manual locking center diff) already. Later RRCs got the Borg Warner unit with a viscous coupling. Works, but are prone to failure.

I don't want anything viscous! Sounds like you got the recipie for a decent rig mate.
Not much has been done. Been daily driving it for the past month or more. It's fun. Definitely fun.
Few weeks ago we took a road trip to see my grandma and to handle some business. On the way we stopped and picked up this
Pretty used. Either that or improperly stored. Headliner is toast, canvas is toast. A few of the seals, and the front mounting hardware turns out to be broken.
Spent a good while stripping it and deciding if I want to lay fresh canvas or prep and paint.

Other than that, waiting on the flow masters to come in. Looking for some nice euro weaves and trying to sell my style 4s.
So today I spent about 30min stripping the hardtop if the dirt and glue. At first I was going to sand it like everyone does. Then I said fuck this and went and got some magic in a bottle.

The start. Just spray, sit, and wash.
Then I decided scraping takes too long.
Ahhhhh, more like it.

Quick wash and all done for now.
The color kinda reminds me of wood. I have an idea.
