Did a lot of running around today, had the m3 style strut tabs welded on by a local guy. He did a great job.

Here is everything in need of some paint! In my amazing paint booth lol (Thank you USPS for the boxes)

Then started to paint everything with por-15, first time using this stuff so no idea how it's going to turn out. So far it seems to be covering really well. We'll see how it holds up, I was quick on the prep, as long as it's not rusty i'm happy.

Might be able to get everything back together tomorrow if all goes my way, still need to find that thread about building a CAB puller tool onto control arm so I can make a trip to the hardware store before they close!

    Happy Easter to everyone!

Decided to tackle some rust today after work. I'll eff that rust up.

      You trying to get cut?

Heres what I was up against

Quick trip to the metal shop to cut a couple patches

Voila, ugly but it's solid again. The fluxcore was burning through the thin sheet of the body really easily, even on lowest and slowest wire feed :(

the ix flares flow really well with the pfeba front lip. looks great.

are the 3 piece rims real RSs? i cant see any writing in the lug bolt well. 1 piece ones are obviously knock offs of course.

They are actually a mismatched set, but look great together. Don't think either are real bbs. They were a great price and I needed a set of 15's.

the flares and the front lip are starting to grow on me :P

Turned out to be a lot of welding, patched 3 holes. Ugly but solid and thats what i'm sticking to. Welded and por15'd, covered with undercoating.

Interior currently a disaster, but will start putting it all back together once I get my replacement hood cable run.

Now that everything is dry I decided to get the front end of the car back together! I was really nervous about the positioning of my m3 sway bar tabs. I have no idea how anyone pushes the CAB's onto the control arms by hand, if you did, you are a much better man than I. I got it done though, no excuses just figure it out. Woodworker meets machine.

Just tossed the rotors back on so I could get it on the ground to let the bushings settle.

            And the important picture!

I'm really stoked with how it turned out. This is exactly where I wanted it in the front, it's like a 1.5 finger gap in the front, 2.5-3 out back. My jack just barely fits under the front crossmember with a mm to spare. Glad it's not any moar low.

The front sway bar is perfectly horizontal when on the ground, and both of the balljoints on the links are perfectly centred so that was a huge relief.

Next up putting the interior back together and supposed to have a local guy coming by this weekend to help me swap out the cracked windshield and do the brakes!

            P.S - I really need a real camera!

Well progress has been stalled a bit. If everything goes as planned It should be together and ready this weekend. Just waiting on a local guy to help with the windshield, and then put the brakes back together.

I have a mtech 1 steering wheel on the way to replace the racing wheel and hub.

I'm rebuilding the front calipers, decided to paint them while they were apart.

Made a quick battery tie down today with some threaded rod, some aluminum and a few nuts / washers.

                  drilled a few holes

                  finished.

                    Totally been down that road!

I'd love to see the factory tie down down...guess I should be less lazy and look some shit up for once.

                    Get more pics up soon!

Decided to rebuild the front calipers and replace the guide pins and boots because well they were all pretty wrecked. The lighting in my apartment sucks, so at 1am worked the only place with decent light!

Mtech1, seller forgot to include the centre cover so still waiting for that.

Needed a shift knob so this will have to do for now, def not my favourite but it will work, unlike the threaded knob which was just placed on top of the shifter rod when i bought the car :hitler:

Working on getting the brakes installed and bled and a few small things then off for inspection.

Teaser post. Had a buddy come by and be the pedal man so I could get my brakes bled tonight!

Just wanted to get the car moveable, so I didn't get a chance to rebuild the rear calipers yet.

Then I bled the brakes. I couldn't believe how terrible the fluid was!!!

Then the unthinkable happened, we put on the wheels and took it for a spin around the hood. Brakes work, suspension works, everything feels amazing and put a big smile on my face. Was dark by this point so no pics yet until tomorrow. Will hopefully have her on the road this weekend / early next week!

So aside from me needing to re-bleed the brakes everything is great with the car so far.

Need to get some 20mm spacers for the rear to push the wheels out a bit. Loving the ride so far, it's stiff but not unmanageable
