I've been terrible at updating this thread but not a lot of progress anyhow as the Master was bad and decided to just park the car until the m52 goes in.
Car is back and running amazingly. Still looks like crap but everything that matters is great :P
Oh,
It was really really dirty so gave the bay a good scrubbing. Its far from spotless but its clean enough I won't get filthy every time I'm doing something in the engine bay.
It's an m52b28 from a 99' 328, running OBD2. Dyno'd @ 210whp. Completely rebuilt with 3,100km! Mods are M3 cams, M50 intake, eBay Headers, TRM Tune, ZF Tranny, M3 shifter, M5 Master Cylinder, 3" exhaust (previous owner was planning on boost, and I may be as well down the line)
I wish I could say I did the swap but in all honesty, I contemplated it but having no place to store an engine hoist, or the motor after, or anything to move the motor with played a huge role, also the swap included the install so it just seemed perfect.
Been super busy! Had a few bad things happen recently, car broke a brake line going into an intersection, luckily no damage to the car besides the line.
Also the harmonic balancer started to rub against the front cover and cause all kinds of charging problems / noise vibration but think that's under control also.
On the plus side, the car has all new hard brake lines and stainless lines. While getting the lines done, also got a new subframe with camber tabs welded on, new bushings, and a 3.73lsd to replace the 2.93 open diff. Car pulls much better now, its a bit high gear wise but I barely drive on the highway so all is good.
