Spent a good 8 hours under the car today trying to get shit to fit, transmission wont go up high enough as it's hitting against the tunnel, more than likely have to change it for a manual or powerglide.
Front sway bar is in the way of the sump so have cut the sump for better clearance, inlets and outlets to the power steering rack also foul against the block so more than likely no more power steering. I think my biggest issue will be trying to get the motor to sit low enough in the engine bay. I don't really want to but I may have to cut / trim the standard engine cross member to get it low enough.
I also have a Toyota V12 sitting in the car port too, I might see how that will fit in the engine bay as it has a front sump and engine mounts are in about the right spot too.
I guess if this stuff was easy then a few more people would have done it by now...

V12's have been done before just google it. Though weight balance is kinda out the window lol.
Are you still considering dry sump to solve a lot of those issues.

that's an interesting set up with the control arms and steering rack. still really want to use the 20b but don't really care at the moment. the main issue for me is getting the engine to sit low enough in the engine bay, EVERYTHING is in the way. i don't want to front mount the block either as it will crack the end plates. i have to retain the standard engine mount location on the 20b to be able to use it. i really really want to keep the auto too and even that hardly fits as it is...
yes, 1gzfe. will see how it fits in the bay and report back when the rain clears.sigpic
