Very little hammering required. Put a large enough bolt or screwdriver into the bush hole and twist/pull/yank it sideways, it'll break free.
-oh I see you already dropped it. Well, someone else might benefit from this ^.
I use a puller + some patience on those washers that usually are tight in the bush. Before putting them back I've used a hydraulic press to make them a bit curved/ cup shaped, like they are on M3. This limits rear subframe vertical movement. I've done this on two cars, I think it works.
