ehh we'll see what happens. I'll be running around on the stock weaves for a little while regardless. It should be pretty sweet to have it at a reasonable height with new bushings and other suspension bits all around.

Rear subframe is being a dick, though. It won't drop by itself. I'm thinking the mounts are seized/corroded. I'm going to have to get creative.

Also, this is a diff. That's as far as I got before I got pissed off.

      For the subframe:
take out back seat, remove Seam seam sealer that is on top of the OEM subframe mounts. Hammer subframe stud up into the cabin, remove subframe stud.

5/8 Lag bolt from lowes, thread it into the alluminum part of the bushing. Get some Shitty Extensions, Hammer down on the lag bolt you threaded in. and HAMMER on it, dont be fucking panzy.

Ive freed Three E30 subframes this way. My car having 253k on it All in New England. It works.

Thanks for the advice! Would you recommend drilling out the rubber bushings to get the subframe cross member out of the way first?

I received both of these boxes of parts this morning. The box on the left contains parts I ordered yesterday morning while the box on the right contains parts I ordered a week ago. Can you guess which one is from Blunt? ;)

Also, go drive a car with fender mirrors before you engage in that nonsense. You can't see SHIT out of them.

Was going to say the larger package, but I guess Blunt's isn't as large when it's besides someone else's....

+1. This is how I freed the one out of the SE30 and I'm gonna do this when I drop mine out... It makes like a shit ton easier.

And wing mirrors are about as useful putting the mirror behind you. You can't see a damn thing, and you can't adjust them while driving. A buddy of mine had a bird hit his mirror and turn it back at him while on a long drive.

I owe you a beer. That worked beautifully.

                My escapades from today:

Went to Lowes to try and build a rear wheel bearing press. Ended up being ~.25" off from being perfect. :hitler:

You can kind of see what I was trying to accomplish on the paper in the back of this picture.

This cap was literally the perfect size for pressing a bearing into.

If this one was a quarter inch in diameter larger it would have been perfect :(

                Speaking of wheel bearings.

                Garage time with Nicky Romero

                Aight rear subframe, ya bitch.

                New parts

Bought some flare nut wrenches so I don't fuck up my brake fittings.

                ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

Is this washer/plate thing supposed to detach from the subframe mount?

Time to get this bitch out.

Just kidding. It wouldn't budge still. Maybe tomorrow :???:

You sure did pull it apart the hard way. I always drop it complete with diff, trailing arms, brakes, etc.

This. So much easier to do once it's all off the car. Also, that washer does have to be transferred over to the new bushing.

You don't say... That was my original plan up until it wasn't dropping down like the other subframes I've removed. So, I started taking it apart to try to figure out why it wasn't behaving like the others.
