Did some quick measuring last night input that into solidworks and got my bend angles, straight lengths and bend starts. Transfer those over to tubing and a main hoop that fits right the first time.
I wouldn't say I "work" for a Subaru shop. I do fab work for several shops as well as mfg private label parts as well as mfg my own parts. My day job consists of building performance diesel parts. So im welding/fabricating/machining all week
Small lame update, b-Pillar cage tie-ins are done and welded up. Will hopefully make good process on the cage this week so i can get the cage welded and carbon roof installed. Then move on to installing the pedal box and working on the widebody setup.
got my a-pillar bars bent up this evening as well as tore out the dash. Would like to get most of the cage stuff done this week but not sure how to approach the rear section. Im not sure if i want to cut a small 3" hole in the rear bulkhead to route tubing to connect to the rear strut or just cut out all of the rear bulkhead. I want this thing to be light. I also will hopefully cutting out the spare tire section and welding in a flat bead rolled section.
Also need to loop the heater hoses so I can remove the heater core and all the b/s associated with it.
.
Bought a used front crossmember last month. I sandblasted it clean yesterday and will hopefully have sometime this weekend to make a big fixture off of it to make an upgraded crossmember either fully tubed or partially tube/sheetmetal since those engine mount locations seem pretty flimsy.
lol.....i fab and weld on cars/products all day everyday. I just dont get time or have enough energy after making everyone else happy to work on my own stuff :(
