Last night, I installed my Luke Box and sub. Can't say enough for this thing... it's crazy. Amazing build quality, PERFECT fitment and incredible performance. Just buy one.
It's still a mess right now. I'll take better pictures in the light and when it is all cleared up.
Today though, the UPS man brought me a present. S54 Z3M Mishimoto radiator. This thing is HUGE and I can't wait to get it installed.

What a weekend. Wow.
My brother came to town in his turd truck on Friday, 5.3/T56 swapped Colorado so I was finally able to run him. After he got his motor dropped in, it made 297whp, 331lb/ft of torque on the dyno.
LOVE the top end the S52 has. Has me thinking about cams in the future. BTW the videos are labeled improperly, first was a 30-35 roll, second was a 50 roll. Also raced him from a dig and I pulled away pretty hard. I'd imagine he was spinning pretty good through first and second.
Saturday I relaxed. Spent the day with the girlfriend and did some furniture shopping.
Sunday was spent under the car replacing the steering rack, power steering lines, control arms and tie rods. I ended up landing a late model E36 M3 steering rack, rather than the Z3 I originally wanted. I was able to find this one locally and I didn't have the time to wait for one to come from Guten. Being in Kansas is really shitty sometimes.
Not a lot to say here so I'll just post the few pictures I did take.
When removing the main bolt that goes through the subframe on the control arm, we had to stack 2 12" extensions on top of eachother and wack on them with a hammer. My buddy Zach has 2 titanium ear drums and the metal on metal noise will pretty much kill him if he doesn't use ear muffs. The only ones we could find were his wifes for the shooting range lol.
This is everything out. Pay no attention to the oil leak from my vanos cover. That will be addressed when I get my new radiator in.
And then I drank some beer. Notice the Craftsman bottle opener.
Car is currently at the shop getting aligned. Should have it back tonight! Tuesday night I will be helping Pootis drop his subframe but hopefully before we get started, I can line up against his turbo M20.

Good news on the radiator issue. After speaking with Mishimoto and sending them photos, someone from their R&D team called me and let me know that the red gunk is actually polish they use after assembly to remove any machining marks, and the shavings are actually just bits of the polishing pad.
I plan on flushing it out really well and tossing it in this weekend. When my radiator is pulled though, I'll go ahead and pull the vanos cover and fix that pesky oil leak as well. Should be running cool and leak free by Monday. ;D

Sunday night I pulled my radiator and vanos with the hopes of fixing a slight oil leak and swapping in the new Mishimoto radiator. Neither worked out.
Vanos was pulled just fine, new gasket installed and everything is great. Only to find that there's another small oil leak elsewhere. I think it's from the front timing cover which is annoying as fuck. I can't pull that cover without removing the crank bolt. Never. Again.
As far as the radiator goes... blah. During the test fit, I realized that at some point before I owned the car, someone had hit something and pushed in the core support on the passenger side about 2". When I set in the Mishimoto, there was less than 1" of clearance to the crank pulley and that makes me feel very uncomfortable. So, I re installed the stock radiator and I'm just going to have to be happy with that for now.
Anybody want a Mishimoto MMRAD-CON-99X?
