MORE! Any progress with the pop out rear glass? I have a touring here in the US, and I am hesitant to take the car apart for the sake of finding out whether or not the retrofit is possible.

I can't get things like the trim clips and the quarter glass here. :(

None recently, the painter,still, has the trim and what not in his paintshop.

I can't remember if it's in this thread or not, I got a pair of 2dr popout windows and pretty much replicated how this worked and then adapted the same principals to fit with the touring glass. The main problem is the trim is NLA from BMW I managed to get one and luckily the other was still useable. I also broke the glass removing it so be careful and take your time or get it removed professionally.

Pulled the pair of wires for the gauges senders today and re-did them on their own with a new third wire added in for warning light.



And engine loom all taped up again with the extra wires branching of just before the ecu plug

Looks like it's been over 2 years since I've posted an update! You missed nothing, as nothing has really progressed since the last post and probably won't for another few years (part time college to blame for that...)

Anyway, this happened a long time ago in 2012...

Finish on a dusty bonnet


Unfortunately my patients had run out and most of the parts left (except the bonnet) are unpainted and back in the shed. I think the plan is to keep tipping away at her over the summer and eventually some day drive it to a paint shop to see about getting someone else to finish painting the remainder of the parts or worst case re-paint the whole car again.

She's not looking as bad now, I tried to wash it a little in the shed so some dust is gone since.

I know that even when I finish what I want there will be other things to do, getting the interior reupholstered at some point being one (it's fine now with no rips etc)

Thanks! I intend to keep up the attention to detail, probably why I'm very reluctant to pay for someone to finish it.
