    Two questions....

    1. What is the purpose of the little pedestals that the cage is sitting on?

    2. I see that you ran your rear supports the the spring perch, but the x-brace to the shock towers. What was the reason for this?

The boxes the cage sits on are required as per the formula drift rule book, and I wanted both those points in the rear to tie into the cage.

Big thanks to Insane Innovations in Phoenix Arizona for fabbing up this car! They are growing big and are super involved in the Achillies team in Formula Drift.

Np. Do a search I'm sure there's a few guys out there who have done it correctly. General concensus though will be to stick with the stock

Well ill talk to Kelley and see how low he can get the cell, I don't think the height difference will be significant. As for the pendulum effect, that's for sure I don't deny it, but I believe with the increased track of wider wheels and spacers it could be beneficial during initiation and transitions. The entire rear end will be cut out so we'll talk about where we can mount it. Appriciate the input though!

The gas tank is in a really good spot, forward of the rear wheels and as low as it can be. By putting a tank in the rear behind the rear axles, its going to sit higher and also youll be dealing with a pendulum effect wanting to swing the car.

Not to mention i assume your looking at the rear tire well for the cell? That is a crumple zone and a very bad spot for the cell unless you seriously reinforce things.

If you wanted to go with a cell, to do it propely in these cars your looking at a ton of cash, and in the end really no benefit. Even the spec guys run a stock tank, they just upgrade small bits to deal with fuel starvation.

Id look at better tires/air pressure/shock settings first.

How so? My premise is that moving weight to the rear would help with grip since this car is so light.

Jezza might I recommend against a fuel cell. It's been proven that the stock tank is in an ideal location and your actually hindering yourself with a cell.

Interior should be painted sometime this week, after the firewall is made for the back. Going with a fuel cell and tubed rear end as well.
