The other day I spray painted my US and kidney grilles, and the whole front end looked really awkward since the top black looked so much newer than the trim/cooler grille

So I decided to get busy again and went out an bought some of this stuff

I heard it was great, and after the first initial test on the bumper trim, I am a believer

Just to show you guys, this is the oil cooler grille (usually ALWAYS faded if it was never resprayed) without using the treatment

    The right half done

The finished product; bad picture, yes, but you can see the shine off of the grille.

        Need to pass smog first.

5-speed parts are being sourced. Piecing it together a few parts at a time; really want to make sure this one goes smoother than the last time I did a 5-speed.

So glad I don't have to worry about passing emissions...cars are exempt in IL if they are older than some year after 1990 :)

                Thanks man! I try

Finally found work, so work is being done
That means more "work" can commence!

Put in my order today for a can of Lachssilber "touch up" paint, AKA my future iS lip paint. Exciting times shall soon come ahead indeed. I have never used Paintscratch before, but I have heard raving reviews, so I thought I really have nothing to lose. A portion of next periods paycheck shall be devoted to shipping a lip from Levent an finally getting my front end cherry

                    Paintscratch.com

They do factory paint chip mixing; most of their paints match very closely to OEM factory paint as they custom mix it themselves. However, because it is custom, not factory, it will be slightly off. I've heard good revieabortion other OG e30 guy where their colorsmarie matched almost exactly, but no one's done Lachssilber; I figured reading all the 5-Star reviews would be enough for me to bite the bullet and see how good paintscratch really is in trying to mix one of BMW's best e30 colors. We shall find out soon enough

hmmm, might have to try this. My paint is god awful and I have a front air dam I'm about to put on but it is white and my car is bahama beige. This looks to be a good route to take. Think the 12.5 oz can would be enough for that?

Lachssilber came in today; looks slightly dark from the paint spray sample, but it will look completely different on the car. So far, it's not bluish like the paint chip on Paintscratch suggests, so it should look cherry once I order the iS lip this Friday.

This is what comes in their kit for $51 shipped

Old Spice odor blocking Deodorant and Man-dle not included

                          And of course............
Try guessing what this means in the near future?

Is that a leather knob? It's about time you got around to the swap. Mines about done and I work on it maybe an hour a week.

Yes, it is leather; I've been working on other projects that I haven't updated on the thread yet like new interior, retrofitting an airbag knee bolster into the non-airbag dash, and my iS lip, so funds haven't been there.

If all goes according to plan, swap should be partially/fully sourced bmid-next month, and the swap should happen early summer. Big thanks to Marines2060 who hooked me up with a lot of free parts at a loss. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it Thanks again buddy!
