Here is a little better snapshot of what I've done over the last couple months.
few months ago I started mounting the cell in the rear of the car.
Bracing a few things up
Had an idea for a tool
The idea wasn't as stupid as I thought
So I decided to put it to use
Then I hacked the front of the car off
A little plate work
Had to clearance the backside of the inner fender wells to clear the massive tires, I need to get a photo of them finished. This give you an idea though.
Then I mocked up the front to find radiator, cooler and intercooler placement.
Once I got it all in place, I mocked the chassis up with PVC, took measurements after I got it were I liked and bent up some tube.
Saturday I got everything tacked into place. going to try and get it welded up this week and also mount the rad, cooler and intercooler.
Once thats done I'll pull the motor for final assembly. Need to strip the body harness and get the interior mocked up then I'll roll out the paint. hoping to fire it up and drive come spring.sigpic

I really can't wait to see this car finished.
This is also one I will need to see in person, truly a built car. Nothing left untouched. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

Shit, I forgot to check the thread. Any dealer/supplier should be able to get the sintered version, I bought mine from blunt a few years back for like $30. Good peace of mind for sure.
The only reason BMW made the E36 was for E30 parts cars.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30Comment

I can get the sinter version from the local dealer for $30. I guess they were factory on late model m20.sigpic

Probably a question that's already been answered, but what is the reason for a front end made of pipe? Enough room for those super fat tyres?Comment

I got a bit more done this weekend.
Braced up
Welded
Got the panels back on. everything still fits nicely!
Worked up some intercooler tabs
Fits well, can't see them but I made some mounting bushings from umhw to kill vibrations.
Changed the radiator lower mount locations. welded on these little stubs to keep centered.
Utilized the old rubber mounts from the original front clip.
Fits perfect
Solid clearance inside as well
Headlights have plenty of room as well
Now I need to get the top mounts sorted. the radiator, oil cooler and intercooler will be solely attached to the chassis, not the body. it'll allow me to strip all the panels quickly for easy access to work on it without having to remove the coolant system etc.
That's it.....more this week hopefully.sigpic
