    End of day 6:

Decided to fully strip the block of all accessories to prep for paint:

IE headers waiting to be wrapped.
Also, while the alternator was off I decided to get a new one:

      Days 7 & 8:

Made a bit of progress this weekend.
My dad came over and helped out a bit too.

Swapped the MarkD 19# 91oct SETA chipped ECU with my new SSSquid 17# 89oct 2.7i chipped ECU:

Pulled the old injectors off a spare rail and installed the new M50 17.5# injectors I got rebuilt from MEPHE.

      ..

Also removed the Aeromotive AFPR kit from VAC. Going with the stock FRP instead.

      Painted a few things:

My dad cleaned up the IE headers before wrapping, and I got further on preping the block for paint:

          I know!

I've been going really slow with this project and enjoying it.

Normally I hammer everything out in 2 to 3 days like a crazy person becuase it's my only car, but life has changed this time around.
The beauty of having a wife who is willing to drive me to work every day for 2 weeks, ha.

Example: My old 1989 4dr - 5 speed swap, S50 swap, rebuilt all suspension, rebuilt all brakes (inc wheel bearings).... 3 days, ha.

            Day 9: Crappiest to date.....

I put the oil pan back on and it sucked! All the little bolts and getting the gasket holes to line up right.... Took forever.

              Day 10:

The POR15 Block Paint Kit Came in:

Zinc oxide prep for good POR15 rust inhibitor adhesion, and a pic of the final product (paint still drying)
This block will never rust again:

Wrapped the IE headers as well:

              And the grand finale!

Got the head and intake back. They look sick....
Coolant casting recess welded and surface decked 0.015"

Had the intake chem dipped as well. This is the natural finish as from the factory.
              Looks brand new:

                    Day 11:

                    Got the head on....

Head stoned, ARP head studs, and Goetze HG:

                    ..

                    ..

                    Head mounted.

FYI, the firewall makes it impossible to mount the head with the studs installed. Had to remove the studs and put the head on using the block dowls for line up.
                    Then re-installed the studs:

                    ..

Installed one of the new Gates Racing Belts... The blue adds at least 5 more HP:

                    Mounted the painted covers:

                    ..

                          Day 12:

                          Slowly coming back together:

                          ..

TB needs a good cleaning, looks out of place:

                            Day 13&14 (All Done!):

Got it all buttoned up over the weekend and running strong.

Here are a few pics of the final few progress points along with a video of start up after having driven ~50 miles:

FYI, If you have IE shorty headers an exhaust flange gasket from a V6 Nissan will work (Autozone):

                            ..
