Finally got my SSK installed. Got myself the e60 545i kit from TheGoodGuy right here on the forums.
His thread here
Great seller, quick delivery and very helpful.
Here's what the throws now look like (3rd, N, 4th):

Quick little mod. Made myself a clutch stop

Materials:
3/8" x 2"elevator bolt (bolt length might vary depending on where your grab point begins)
Adhesive felt pads
Locking nut or locking washer and standard nut
Total Cost:
About $7 but the majority of that cost came from the felt pads which only came in packs of a kabajillion. But actually more like 16. The bolt and washers came out to less than $2.00
Install time: 20 secondsComment

That interior is amazing! I enjoy seeing slowly, but correctly done builds.View my build thread. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=287724Comment

Haven't updated this thing in a while. Been kinda busy and I'm about to move so I haven't had time to really focus on the car.
I did, however, get an interesting new part today that I'm dying to put in. Courtesy of Derek/nebulous123 (great seller). Unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait a few weeks as I won't be able to install it til after I'm a bit more settled.

Btw Derek, you were right. I had a hell of a time unwrapping this. It's still in enclosed in the inner bubble wrap layer as it looks like there's some oil coming out of it and I don't want it dripping everywhere :p
Also, friend took some shots of the car a few days ago

Got a few things done a while ago
Swapped out cracked lenses with new ones:

Before and After:

And then swapped the entire housing and put in some euro smileys

Put in HIDs and swapped the OEM city lights for LED bulbs

What kind of LEDs did you put in the city lights???
If you don't have LED license plate lights go on amazon, I got mine for like 2 bucks.
Sweet car BTW! Love the interior!-Christian

Thanks! Do you have a link to those plate lights? And the city lights are just T10 LED bulbs that replace the 194 bulbs that came standard. You could probably find a set on ebay or amazon.Comment

License lights are 37mm "festoon" bulbs that look like these... Mine have 6 of the little SMD LEDs, and are quite bright, almost too much. 3 should be pretty sweet.
I sprang for the cheapest ones I could find and got a few extra, in case one broke. Tons of options when searching like here...
The dome lights are 42mm FYI. Same search, just 42mm instead.-Christian

So...after a period of inactivity that's stretched on a bit too long, here's a little more progress.
Steering rack Swap (e46 m3)
Tie rods disconnected from strut housings

The old rack

This son of a bitch was way too much trouble to remove on either end. Took almost an hour of coaxing to pop the rack out from it and even longer to disconnect from the steering column

That's where things currently stand right now. Working on separating the knuckles now so I can put in the spacersLast edited by ky0u; 03-28-2014, 06:53 PM.Comment
