I'm about to drop $300 on a clean 2-gauge VDO setup for the ashtray, granted that includes senders and wire harness I would think that you can look at what people pay for gauges and consider that as the point to beat/match. I'm sure you can get a lot of good information in that space.

I've made a LOT of progress. I'll take some pictures when I get back into my workshop.
I am afraid that this will be ABSURDLY expensive in a small batch. It would also require a sizable down payment prior to production. So basically, there are huge obstacles to these finding their way into anyone elses hands.
Sadly, this may well be a one off. Short of someone wanting to go into business with me and deciding to invest a few thousand dollars in production equipment.
