hahah thanks man!
I've been going crazy working on the car, going from 8pm until 5am for three straight nights.
I've made a ton of progress:
Harness out and completely weeded through cutting out unnecessary wires.
Fuel tank out
Garage super cleaned out
I am hoping for rotisserie next weekend. We will see though.
I'm still not sure what to do with my windows. I don't want to use power windows, harness simplicity.
I want to cut out all unnecessary metal in the doors so manual swap wouldn't work. I want it to be fairly weatherproof.
So, I think my best/lightest option would be gutting the doors and making a fixed type of lexan that is easily dropped into the door or removed.
Almost done stripping the interior out. Using a knotted wheel and lacquer thinner to remove adhesive and ran out of thinner.

Preliminary deciding what to cut. Green is keep. I ended up removing some green items.

Trash wires.

Final harness for the entire car.

I couldn't have done it without this bad boy. 100000x easier than reading a pdf.

oh, and.. dem flares...

I have no idea what the plan is... my dad knows electricians who are going to do it for us. What I've gathered is they are gonna run wire down to the main box in the basement since we still have open amps on it.I too need to hook up 220 for my welder. Do you have an external or garage only breaker box? Is it just a matter of installing wire and breakers into the box and hooking up an outlet?
Wiring is not my thing needless to say and I don't really want to pay someone to do it
After about 6 hours in the garage I'm calling it a night until the morning.
Got the skirts taped on pretty good, can't wait to get this thing going!
Rear subframe removed.
TONS of trash out of garage.
Organized.
I'll attack the back half of the garage tmrw. It's a disaster.

RedMeat: LS6 Powered, M3 Flared, LTW Project - SOLD
This post is primarily copied from a previous thread to make it less confusing..
This thread will be my build thread.
My name is Adam. I am a Mechanical Engineering student.
I hope you lime pictures.
This will be a slightly slow build. Plan is to be "done" by next summer.
I daily an S52/5 Lug/IE3/GAS E30, so I don't have a rush to get this done. I can hoon every day.

I started back in mid 2009 on this 87 325iS and it went through multiple phases.
It ended up being an S52/ZF/5 Lug/Euro drift/autox/daily.
The S52 is currently in pieces and will be rebuilt. (it's now being sold)
The plan for this phase is: [updated 1/15/15]
-Refreshed LS1 w/ TKO600RR & 3 clutch 3.73 LSD & CATuned Axles
-E36M/Ti 5 Lug w/ C6 Z06 Brakes
-Z3 Rack
-MCS/FEAL/Fortune Auto Dampeners
-Seam Welded, Gutted, & Caged
-Tubed Front & Rear Ends
-Recaro Profi-SPG with Willans Harnesses
-Fiberglass E30M Flares, Hood, Trunk, Bumpers, Doors, & Skirts
-Carbon Fiber Roof
-BCL Wing
-Custom Body Harness
-APEX ARC-8 18x10" et25 w/ 285/30 R888s
-Full Imolarot Exterior, Alpinweiß Interior Respray
-Lexan Windows
-Wilwood Pedals
-RaceTechnology DASH2 PRO
-<2,300lbs w/o driver
From first day to last day it drove..

/history
I got the sound deadening out and started to pull the harness.
Then took a knotted wheel to all the seam sealer to prep the seams to be stitch welded.

I ordered some flares from Czech Republic and traded for some Recaro Profi SPG with VAC mounts from a member on here..

Which brings me to today..
I received the flares and figured my build thread was CONFUSING. So time for an organized one.
I started to take the sunroof cassette out and that ended in a very successful manner.
I then cleaned the garage and started preparing for the rotisserie.
Next morning USPS calls me "HEY! We have some huge packages for you, will you be home?"
PESCH flares were on their way.
I got them taped up as good as possible, jackstand kinda blocked the skirt though.

I'm taking summer classes so this might have slow progress. I need to hook up 220V in the garage and then it'll really get rollin.Last edited by unloadedak; 12-14-2015, 10:07 PM.Tags: None
