Slr kit soon so eventually wide body. For now I'm trying to limit spending money on things I don't need. I'll just hammer out the fenders if need be for now

I run my SLR kit on slightly rolled fenders, you don't NEED overfenders but it does look a little silly lol.

        Figured.

I've got some custom fenders sitting around. Thell look Damn silly tho with such a wide box front and nothing out back. I'll make something work. But if I'm. Gonna go wide I'm gonna go m3 all around not just flares

How much street driving do you do with your car? I stayed away from wisefab and SLR due to their 'wide open' rod end ball joints and tie rods. Just don't see those lasting too long with mild street use, what with dirt and shit getting in the important bits with their open design. I just did an e46 arm install, still have to get my knuckles modded though... guess that's the only downside - can't undo that.

Not much... To and from events and occasionally to meets. I can't imagine them being very delicate, probably just need cleaning. Tracks are pretty dusty and dirty too. I emailed Sean about cleaning.

My concern is that dirt or something would get inside of the rod end bearing and start wearing away at the inner nylon or whatever's used inside of them. I guess the rod ends wouldn't be the biggest deal in the world if they wore out/broke from an impact - those can be ordered online. What I'd REALLY be concerned about breaking/bending/wearing out is the long, tapered bolts used for the 'ball joint' and tie rod. If SLR ever stopped making their kit, you'd be SOL on the tapered bolts.

I really don't see them breaking and not having other super bad problems, but you never know... you know? Tis why I try hard to use 'off the shelf' parts on my car.

I don't think you have anything to be worried about, look at the offroad world, heim joints are used on everything. Not to mention that they are available in about any size and thread style. I used chromoly ones with Kevlar/nylon bushings on my jeep for the knuckle steering setup....still going strong after 3 years of daily use.

Hm. That's good to hear I guess - I knew they were readily available online, but didn't know they last that long.

On a side note - it looks like SLR has started selling their angle kit sans fancy control arms for $550. Considering you can get e46 arms for $120ish you can save almost $500 bucks, which is pretty cool. I'm definitely tempted to get the angle 'block' now that this is an option... won't look forward to dropping my control arms again though

Yeah I don't think I'll have any issues. But I'll make sure to keep em clean.

Got the setup from a member for 1k shipped basically new. Should have some fun.

                                Dat angle

ordered the 'angle kit' from SLR a few weeks ago, hoping I get them in sometime this week. Trying to make it in time for the first club loose event this year.

So do you need longer brake hoses with this kit?
