New cooling system, just like I said. In my experience there was no oil in coolant, it was just eating coolant and filling cooling system with air. Steam from exhaust when at operating temp, and top coolant hose super tite and expanded. I suppose if you have a coolant system pressure tester that would be the best way to know.

Hey good to know. So check the coolant for oil? The one I want to look at has had new cooling system parts. I understand the 5 speed swap is involved but I dont think its really that much more than a 24v swap on an e30. Pedal box, hard lines and cylinders, flywheel and clutch, trans, drive shaft, diff. You would end up doing most of that on a 24v swap besides the pedal box, and there is way less wiring involved in the e34, and no fabrication to make anything fit.
I just really like the tourings.

Im interested but I dont think I have the funds for that plus the trip. I bet he wants at least $4,500 which is my absolute limit with nothing left over for repairs, registration/smog in CA, or the traveling.
That would be a super fun road trip though.

I had lots of fun with the car, and I know she is just going to get better where she is going. If the new owner puts together a build thread or the like Ill post a link.

Yeah its different when you are there. You get one walk around and one practice run to work things out, and thats plenty. Some people still get lost, but 99% get it right. Not that hard.

No. Im just not using this car as much as I thought I would, and Id like to liberate some money to use in other places like school bills and my Yota SR5 truck.
The e30 just sits in the street 28 days every month and collects dirt. Id rather sell it to some one who will drive the piss out of it.
If it sells for my asking price thats cool, if not Ill keep it and do an engine swap some time next year and maybe convert it back into something more DD friendly. But I would rather do that with a plastic bumper car that already has decent paint.
