Very nice job. I remember hating myself when I did megasquirt on my M42 turbo car. That was a long time ago and it looks like things have developed nicely since then.Leave a comment:

Some parts were easy and others I was pulling my hair out. It took me roughly 2 weeks to get the car to idle correctly. In the last week I've got a decent road tune done and am thoroughly enjoying it.
Whatever you do, read everything you can?Leave a comment:

Nicely done. I'm seriously considering going megasquirt because of driveability/aging stock AFM issues on my turbo M42. I need to do a lot more reading but I've been a little scared off by the initial setup. Was it not too bad?Leave a comment:

Car now idles on standalone. Super happy about that. Coilovers and econoboost gauge arrive tomorrow. Still need to change out the head gasket and head studs as well as clutch and flywheel. Getting there.Leave a comment:

So here is the "base" tune that the Kdfi unit comes with. It's horribly wrong for the m42. I changed the Control Algorithm, Fuel and Ignition Load from Alpha N to Speed Density. I also changed the Req_fuel and adjusted the VE table closer to a setting to match.

I installed the pads on Friday and bed them. I do have SS lines, however I didnt get a chance to flush the system and replace my old fluid with the ATE I bought. I have them on my e90 and I love them.
On another note, standalone went in yesterday and I'm working on getting it going. :)Leave a comment:

love where this is going. Let us know how those hawk pads work out. Do you have stainless lines as well? I need to do something about better brakes but have no more monies...Leave a comment:

Some pics of how she currently sits. Might do a video soon as first auto cross is next weekend.

Now the reason this is taking me so long is school. Two years ago I decided I hated corporate America and quit my job. I've been in aviation school training to be a commercial pilot since. At this stage I'm doing a lot of cross country flying and my free time is slim :(
Can't complain though, I get to do this daily!
