Popped on the S54 oil filter housing and the power steering. Torqued everything down with loc-tite.
I cleaned out the threads in the block for the head bolts then I starting reading that people prep their block with a honing stone before they install the CES cut-ring head gasket. Should I do this? Thoughts?

New bolts torqued correctly are preferred as well. Anything over torqued and stretched out is trashed. I've also have been torquing everything to spec. No more cutting corners!sigpic

Agreed x1000 I've snapped too many "original" bolts while even torquing to the proper values. You never know if some fool had the stuff apart and tightened the crap out of it on reinstall. Even then, I'm sure those bolts get fatigued after 20 years. Good call.
I've also learned my lesson using cheap torque wrenches.

Sorting out a couple more ground wires then I should be all done with the dme side of the wiring harness.
Still need to wire up the new gauges and the GM IAT sensor.
Heat Sink'd the coil drivers.
Where I left it.

Going to make the temp sensor into a vacuum port or find a barb fitting at the hardware store.
Took a straight edge and a feeler gauge to the block at a bunch of different angles. This is the only spot that the .0015" feeler gauge found a gap. It has resistance but it still goes under the straight edge. The area in question is by the coolant port and is a little wider than the gauge. Thoughts?

I have the traction control under control in my head after a bunch of texts, a phone call and a little research on my end.

I did something. Wrong end of the car but actually turn a bolt.
2.93LSD $150 some bearing noise but it works! I'm keeping the cover :)
I'll hopefully get the 2.93LSD w/60% lock Wangman Diff in there today/this weekend.sigpic
