Not yet, I don't know if I'm ready to drop the $$$ on STACK/AIM/whatever, so I might look into a stock type solution for now. e30 m3, s38 maybe, I don't know

I've been creeping along slowly. Tonight I mounted and plumbed my FPR, I'm pretty ok with how it turned out. Also made my oil return line, used a Summit brand line on this since it wasn't critical and it was a PITA compared to the Aeroquip

I will never buy anything other than real Aeroquip hose and fittings now, they are worth it just because I don't spend double the time fighting with it, then crossthread the fitting like I did with speedway hose and fittings...

So I'm now becoming stuck on the idea of running wide 17's (tires, that is) and lowering my car more. I borrowed this set of wheels from a friend to test-fit, they are 17x9.5 ET20 (post-adapter) with 255/40/17 RE-11's, which seem to run huge.

I was pretty encouraged by this, realistically I think I want to run 245/40/17 all around, and I want to lower the car about 1/2-3/4", just for looks of course. I'll probably have to raise and re-align for track days but I don't really care, I have access to scales and strings and I can drive it on the street and auto-x it with the adapters. I'm thinking of cutting out a small section of the inner quarter panel, right where it meets the fender. There is a big bulge/gap between the inner and outer quarter panel and I think there is a lot of tire clearance to be gained by cutting out a section, then hammering flat and seam sealing.

Nice  the rear valance appears to approve of the wheel/tire combo too tehe. I'm right along with you on running wider 17's. Soooo many more tire choices above 225. So do you think you it's possible to run say 245/40/17 on 9's with out running flares?

Definitely, it's been done before many times but I want to run my car lower than most of the others that I've seen before, and I'm stuck with relatively low offsets because of the adapters. It's just tough to fit anything in the rear on a late model

mmm...rpf1's, one of my favorite JDM wheels. I think that fitment looks great. Have you considered running, say, 245s on 17x8.5s? or is that out of the question for you? something's got to give if you want to ride sigga-slammed.

Yeah, I wish they were mine. That's the plan really, I just wanted to see how much room there was, I haven't ordered tires yet for my 17x8.5's. I don't care about being super slammed, I just want to be able to drive it hard and look like I want it to.

I started drilling some exploratory holes in my rear quarter, lots of room in there!

Keep in mind that if you want the "flat-faced" RPF-1s (like the ones you test fitted), then you have to get 17x9 or wider. 8.5" and narrower have the convex face, which doesn't look so great.

I'm not running these, they are off my friends e36 m3 track car. I have a set of low-offset, concave BBS RC's for this car, just using the RPF-1's to get an idea for tire fitment because I'm shopping for tires
