Good news, thanks to Robert on bimmerforums (epmedia) I just ordered an externally mounted pump that should be at my doorstep in a few days. Updates shall follow

decent update to report but no pics sorry
I got both pumps installed and yay they work! Car should start!
NOPE
Getting fuel into the fuel distributor and out the return lines but not into any of the injector lines so im at a bit of a stand still. I have to research how the distributor works and how I can fix it.
Any suggestions would be welcome!

Time for a real update:
So after cleaning the fuel distributor/afm was able to get fuel to the injectors and I got the car to barely fire and idle if I held the throttle wide open. It smoked a ton but I had seafoam in the gas and the car just wouldn't gain any rpm.
After about 15 minutes of holding the throttle open and it chugging along, it just coughed and sprang to life and revved up beautifully!!! An injector must have been clogged and finally cleared or something but the car runs fantastic for a little POS and I took it for a shakedown around the block.
Bad news: headgasket is blown. Trying to decide what to do with it. I put it up on craigslist for giggles to see if I would get any offers but I might fix the headgasket and go from there.
Heres some pics of the car
Maybe fix the headgasket and park it in the vintage corral at bimmerfest? That would make the prissy 02 owners squirm;)

Hmmmmm, after seeing this thread, I just thought of something.
If you're jealous of your "friend's" good fortune and abundance of wealth, "gift" them a "free" E2X and watch as their wealth quickly disappears...
That said, pretty awesome anyway. Good luck with the build, I always like seeing where the complete shit heap rust buckets go - realistically, they should probably be scrapped, but, it's always cool to see a 2002 or something in piss poor condition restored.Comment
