yesterday i had my pcm's unlocked and vanos removed, i will be attempting to start her for the first time in the next week or so.
today im working on installing the e36 m3 euro abs pump and controller, im currently running and soldering wires. tomorrow i will be machining the front calipers to accept my e46 m3 csl rotors. hopefully next weekend ill have the brakes mounted.Leave a comment:

Tho only other updates I have thus far is the radiator and intercooler mounting locations. I'm putting the radiator on the outside of the core support. I had to remove and relocate the two mounts on the front valance inorder for the radiator to fit. As for the intercooler, I'm going to mount it on the driver side wheel well and run it down to the front valance. I'll post pics tomorrow of what I'm considering.
Once brakes are done I will begin on suspension then wheels and wide body. The plan is to run 17x10 with a 305/30/17 in the rear and a 17x9 with a 265/35/17 up front.Leave a comment:

I'd replace the rear bars you have going by the windows with straight bars going from the main hoop to the rear strut towers, replace the door bars with straight bars as well, get a harness bar that doesn't have crush bends, and put in a diagonal, which will keep your main hoop from folding over. Think of a box with no ends... it'll just fall over. Doesn't look like you have a bar running between the A pillar bars along the roofline either.
I'm not an engineer and certainly not an expert, but I've learned enough over the years to see that your cage will probably just fold up in any serious impact. And a poorly built cage can actually make your car less safe. I'm not trying to knock your work, but that's really not a good cage design. If you want a cage, cut out what you have, take your car to a shop and have them do it properly. It's not a good idea to half ass safety equipment.
the x bars going from the main hoop tie into the bar that is welded to the rear shock towers. the cage is just fine as it is. I do have a cross par at the A piller .Last edited by blusylver; 03-26-2015, 12:28 PM.Leave a comment:

I'm not trying to do any sanction racing. I just built a cage that will help save my ass. It's a 8 point cage, you cant see it in the pics but it's tied in on the front and rear shock towers.Leave a comment:

Did you do any research on how to do a proper roll cage, or did you just kind of go for it? That's not going to pass anywhere.Leave a comment:
