87 vert, a thread by kevin

Hey guys, out of shear dumb luck, I was browsing the r3v forums as a lurker, and a for sale ad caught my attention, an e30 convertible for sale not even five minutes from me. So i quickly made an account and pm'd away, shoutout to klug for hooking me with the sale.

My previous car was an 06 subaru outback and the motor died in that so i was on the hunt for an e30 or a miata. I couldn't pass up the deal i received on this car, so here I sit.

The car is in great shape, mechanically its mint, interior is mint, crack free dash, on board computer works, heated seats, all the gauges work, paint is ok at best, the painter who did this respray... shifty is a good word for it.

I just ordered coilovers and wheels for it. I have an es valance sitting in my garage awaiting paint, Other plans include a new top eventually, perhaps a hood bra, five speed swap ... it definitely needs a cup holder. I'm sure i'm forgetting plenty.

Which red is that? It looks like Henna, but I dont think they made Henna Verts, but I think the color was still offered in 87.

What coils are you using, and what size tire is that? It looks meaty as fuq. Im sure a 45 series would be much better

I figured I'd update this so I could kind of have a record keeping system basically.

The car has been running fucking awesome until I told someone how awesome it was running and then it decided to start shutting off on me at low idle. SO yeah that's happening.

                    I
Got these wheels and IX sides and fender flares together for a really good price. The wheels need some love but I have all winter so it's aight. The IX stuff I'm not crazy about so if anyone is interested in it I'll hook you up.

How did you get your ES valance to sit so flush on the sides? Mine has a huge gap in it. Nice work :)

I got a new top, just some vinyl eBay top but this thing is actually perfect. I usually don't condone eBay auto parts but this is truly impressive.
it actually looks like zinno. What buyer did you get the top from on ebay?

The one side had an existing plastic tab I was able to tuck under the bumper and screw in. The other side I had a lot of issues with. After much trial and tribulation, I just drove a screw straight through it but high enough so it's not very visible
