yeah its probably coolant or it could be a gas additive like seafoam. If you've put something into your gas like something that maintains the gas or something to clean the fuel system, it can cause a lot of white smoke until the next tankLeave a comment:

Haha, I get the ambient temp thing, but it is still a relatively large amount coming from my 325 over my other two bmws.
Oh well, I'll be rebuilding it anyways, so not to worry.Leave a comment:

That's because it's cold man! Exhaust warm + 10* ambient air temps outside = schmokin. Doesn't do that the rest of the year.Leave a comment:

Looks awesome. Is that amount of white smoke normal for an m20? I only ask because mine has about the same level and I suspected that it was abnormal

I know!!! Roots type blower would be awesome. I need to look into it.
Thanks, man. I actually just had flanges cut to build a manifold, but I'm trying to go easy on the car spending haha. I guess we all are to some degree.
But you're damn right.
This thing needs a turbo.Leave a comment:

Thanks man! I've only had a bubble once before and that was a pain. Normally it's a breeze.
I topped off fluids tonight and did a few more heat cycles, idles, revs, etc, and then went out for a drive. I've been driving the Forester so much that the E30 feels like a total dog. Kind of a let down. Definitely peppier than before, but still not nearly worth the $$ in parts. Suspension is fantastic on this thing, but man are E30s slow. And throttle response/revs are still slower than I'd like them to be.
Maybe I expected too much?
Turbo thread coming soon 👍.
The car looks awesome. Keep up the good work.Leave a comment:

I think you need a small supercharger to get that N/A feeling but with 100 hp more :DLeave a comment:

Yeah nice!! Raise the coolant tank as high as you can and bleeding is done in a couple minutes :)Leave a comment:

She runs! Head is kinda loud around 2k rpms, I'm going to try and adjust the valves and see if it improves. I'm actually quite surprised at how lopey the cam is. Idles/revs great, very excited to get to cruising.
But first....I need to finish bleeding the cooling system.

Finally received my intake manifold and valve cover from the powdercoater tonight, so I tried to get some stuff done.
Note: I tried installing the head with the ARPs threaded into the block..... after much of a fight ended up removing them, installing the head in the dowels, and then threading the studs in.
Got the head torqued down, IM, all of the TB stuff ran, dipstick, throttle, etc. A decent bit of progress. The next night I get I'm going to time it and finish her up. Can't wait.

Taped this off, started sanding with the angle grinder, and realized I had water in my tank so I quit.
