    Classic Daily E46 M3 cammed LS3 Swap

This project is actually running and driving now but I will post the build over a few posts and get it up to date.

Here is the victim. Already has stoptech brakes, coil overs, ground control sways, te37 wheels, super sprint exhaust etc etc

    On a lift coming apart

This is getting a 0 mile 525hp GM Perforamance Parts LS3 with a built t56 magnum from D&D Performance.

    lightweight flywheel

    Engine in (using vorshlag headers)

    More to come soon

      Original engine fail?

And the new engine you chose how? Had it laying around?

      Cool stuff.

Wow S54 performance just wasn't enough huh. Wonder what weight distribution will be with two less cylinders in front of the axle but add two extra pistons.

Nope original engine was fine...it's actually going into an e21. New engine was bought for the project. I build these sort of cars for others.

It will be a track car for the customer and before this he had a 600whp Dodge. But he wanted something a bit lighter and track worthy. I am VERY interested to see how the weight distribution is as well. There is a TON of room between the front of the engine and the radiator.

          It's actually already running....

The e46 is know to have issue with the floors cracking or ripping out so it's best to add some reinforcements. We went with the plates from redish Motorsports out of the UK. These are nothing short of amazing. REALLY well designed.

Start by cleaning all the undercoating off.

                The plates

                weld/bend/weld

Smooth out and put etching bare metal prep on them.

                POR and seem sealer

                Then undercoating

Rear subframe also got new poly bushings

                subframe back in

Very awesome setup! Is there much wiggle room in the engine bay or is it pretty tight fitting?

On the drivers side yes but other than that not really.
