I wanted to post a small update.

This weekend I will be doing a lot of work to the car as well as dropping the pistons off to have a confirmed 2mm taken off the top of the pistons.

Also an update for the plans of the car wile it's n/a. I will be buying some individual throttle bodies for the car so I'm going to build my dream n/a m20 set up.

    Megasquirt tuned
Coil on plug ignition system ( going to get s52 coil packs)
Individual throttle body induction system with a custom csl inspired intake manifold
    Booster delete
    3.0 stroker
Fully built head with the following
Port matched intake and exhaust ports
    1mm oversized valves
272 cam maybe a little bigger
    Heavy duty rocker arms
    Performance springs
    True stainless steel valves

I know this is a lot of money but I have a good enough job now to where I can afford all of this.

And I will be driving my ix to Bimmerfest in 2015 boo Yeah.

are you just shaving the pistons and not cutting valve reliefs? if those are M54B30 pistons they are getting pretty thin at 2mm shorter. Do you know the final min thickness?

M54b30 pistons are 6.5mm at the thinnest part stock and yes I'm going to have valve reliefs cut in.

I believe they are 8.5mm thick at its thickest so I should be safe for a n/a build.

Ice done a bit of work today to the ol gal.

I installed a new fuel filter the one I pulled off looked like it came from 1989. I also finished installing the stainless steel brake lines. I didn't finish them because the soft lines going from the body to the trailing arm was too short so I was mad about it.

Installed my 19lb injectors as well

I also thought it would be cool to put a shifter boot on my auto Haha looks cool. The boot is old and sun bleached.

It's okay I used a rock as a hammer and got it to work haha. But really I did get it fixed and everything worked. Now I'm just waiting on getting my control arm from my friend then I can reinstall that and then mount my cars new bbs wheels.

Also I've decided to save for custom 11.0:1 compression ratio pistons and a 288 cam for my baby.

So I will be picking up a second ix that will become my daily driven car. So now plans have changed with Agatha. I will rip her subframes off and get them all cleaned up and have them powder coated and replace all the mounts and bushing. She's also not going to be turbo charged. The current motor I'm building will be going into the daily driven car. And the motor in the daily driven ix will become a 3.1L stroker with coil on plug, itb, csl inspired intake. I will be removing the brake booster And getting a Porsche master to replace it. And yes It will become a manual ix as well. This is going to be a vary costly build. But a fun one.

So this car is going on the back burner a little. I recently got a second iX that will be my Daily Driver and now my plans have changed for my white car. Here is what now is in the works and its going to cost some big $$$$ and lots of researching.

For the bottom end i plan on getting a second M54B30 crank and rods and purchase Metric Mechanic 11:1 Pistons ( dont need to worry about the pistons kissing the valves ). And the whole rotating assembly will be lightened and everything balanced perfectly.

The top end is the most costly as it usually is. I will be purchasing the RHD itb for the car still but i will also be getting the 292 roller cam set up as well. The intake valves will be 44mm and the exhaust will be 36mm. The combustion chambers will be polished perfectly and the ports will be port matched and polished to match the ITB and the headers I get.

My goal of this isnt to get a 350HP s54 killer. Will never happen with a NA build thats streetable. I want to have fun and learn as much as i can about this stuff. Also i have an iX so its a little harder to do a 24v swap and it be worth it to me. We all have seen the recent S54 swaps into the ix but that adds another 2k on top of the estimated 6k to do it in a standard e30.

The reason im not doing a turbo is because EVERYONE dose. My black one will be more of a mainstream build. This car not so much. Yes it will take a few years and it will cost a damn fortune but its my money so let me be stupid with it HAHA.
