OP: Show better photos of your cubby gauges? Are those period correct gauges .. is there really a difference compared to the new VDO gauges? Any progress on the monowiper? Raul sent me a lot of great photos of the modified linkage. I will be tackling mine soon. Once the motor is out, I can easily get to the linkage...
Will get some pictures of the gauges for you. They are from 1985, so I am pretty sure period correct. They work too:). Have no idea if they are exactly like the new ones.
Any information on the monowiper would be great....that is the last thing to do on the car, except mant. type items. Have an appointment to have the decals put on Wed:)

So my understanding of the front valance install is that it only requires those 4 bolts to hold it on?? Is that correct? I'm attempting the install in 2 days. Just want to make sure :)

Also is that safe? Is the OEM valance connected the same way? I thought it had more bolts across the top of the valance.

Hi:). If you are putting on the h35 spoiler like mine, you have to take the front euro or usa valance off. The valance that is on your car is held on by a bunch of 8mm screws....
If you try to leave it on the h35 will not go in place correctly....well at least it will not on a 85 323i euro.
Have fun, get a friend, use boxes in the front and line everything up carefully before you drill holes. You will only need 4 holes. Once the bumper is on the valance can not go anywhere:)

Alright thats exactly what I wanted to hear :) So just to check, the valance is held in by the two bolts that hold in the euro bumper and then the two bolts + washer that hold the valance to the fender.

Thanks for your help john, always appreciate it :)

Yes, that is how I put mine on. However I used small washers on the inside to disperse the force on the fiberglass....don't want to crack it:).
Do not tighten down the one side before you put on the other side:), bet you knew that, just makes it easier to move around a bit and not break anything.

              Hey jm2002,

Sorry for the threadjack but saw an older post of yours looking for a Hartge air dam and this seems to be your official build thread. I have one. Unpainted, never mounted.

If you're still looking for one, shoot me an email at danspach@optonline.net

So I got into accident :( Good thing - I'm alive and I'm getting it repainted as a result. There goes all that $$ hah....buy my rear shocks jm ;)

On another note - finally figured out all of my engine issues I think. Rough idle / gasoline smell / rough start ups / poor mpg .... were fixed by installing m50 green top injectors. The previous owner said the the injectors were correct but after rebuilding them and everything - they still didn't help much. Turns out (as I long suspected...) using 12.5# injectors meant for a 323i? or whatever doesn't really work well for a 2.7i swapped car. Switching to the m50 injectors solved all of those issues so far.

Hey; Glad to see you are ok, not a good way to get the car painted:). Shocks are on my winter ticket, if can wait that long.
My engine block says 2.7 on the side, so I assume it is the 2.7 conversion of the h26. The car runs very well right now that I have the afm in; but I have no idea what injectors are in the car....another project for next year.:) after the sub-frame is done....

You should be able to read off the part number on the injector if you look closely enough!

thanks, I will check it out.
Tomorrows project is to get the AF gauge mounted where the broken clock is located.
Should look better, but not original:)

                          update time

Well its been a month since I updated this post.....This past week I put in the AF ratio gauge in where the clock goes....sitting at 14.5 at idle. Good enough for now. Then I found the 240 km speedometer gauge; which is the one for this car, and had to transfer the hartge sticker over...That was fun using my wife's hairdryer on it...but it turned out looking really good.
Today, I put in the comfort seats..yes I know the car is suppose to have sport seats, but I can not find the correct fabric...black houndstooth. So I at least have all matching interior, and the seats are pretty much new. Looks a lot better.
Will get some pictures up tomorrow:)
Last item is the side decals. Almost had this done, but the guy could not get it done for me last month; maybe this next week:)

just read through your entire thread. what a project!!! glad to see it coming along so nicely. and so fast!! i can't wait to start throwing parts onto my hartge build haha. i've gotten super lucky finding all my aero bits and shift knob and wheels. i don't think i'll be doing the motor or anything like that; i love my m42 too much lol. i'll get you photos of that rear valence as soon as i get my hands on it.
