I'm new here, go easy on me <3

    I missed M20s so I bought a thing

Auto, salvage, 1989, stock, working AC and no leaks, PO had a thing for using the wrong fasteners but it felt strong and it seemed it was well taken care of until the latest owner.

Apologies, I am inconsistent with pics. I may have a ton of some stuff and none of others.

    And it has paint

    gg PO

I got all happy when I finally got it home

Some stuff from a parts car

Old vs. new gas cap, some chucklehead bent the hell out of the old one

Timing belt before I drove it to the picnic in Washington

    Belts on

New cap and rotor, plug wires are functional if not pretty or consistent

    Buttoned up, coolant bled

First gas stop on the way to the picnic

    Rest stop!

    Made it to Criv's house

Final stop before Eric (Cabriolet) and us part ways

    Home safe

H&R Race arriving tomorrow. Lots of stuff done, lots left to do.

    So far:
    Timing belt/water pump/cap/rotor
    Turner chip
Bilstein HDs (thanks Wanganstyle for hookup and FredK for install)
Fixed ABS, tossed awful autozone pads for OEM
    Fixed cruise control
Fixed odo/gauges, by swapping working cluster
    Sport steering wheel

    Needs:
    Sprangz/strut mounts
    Fogs/brake ducts
    Wheels/sticky tires
    Crack free dash
    5 speed and S3.73
    Sports interior
    New front bumper
    New hood

    chipping away slowly...
    paint sucks

Get yourself a Bentley Manual. Don't be afraid of using the search feature, it's in the top right.

Oh, so changing a timing belt = build thread?

                          Cool.

brown did a thing for me

stock spring, stock spring compressed to where I could get it out, h&r raec spring

another reason not to get crap parts: one side of the car has a cheap "karlyn" control arm on it and it blows. it won't articulate enough to get the spring out. took about 3 times as long to get the spring out on that side.

                              rear spring comparison

how I got the rear springs out, apparently they're a pain

new strut mounts, old ones are toast

                              that's normal

slapped the track shoes on for funsies... front's a bit high. maybe I can remove the spring pads or grab some drop hats.

                              with whee30!

someone's gonna ask about struts.. bilstein HDs. not sure if they're bottoming out or not but they'll ride me over until I get Konis or the like.
