Funny how clean that e36 looks. 323i though?

I have someone questions for you R3V.
1. When I install the new pan, pickup tube, and dipstick can I forget having CCV?
Or would not having a CCV interfere with reliability?
2. This has probably asked a million times, what throttle body and intake manifold should I run? I already have both M52 and M50 manifolds, and also an m52 throttle body.
Should I run the m50 manifold and go with an m50 throttle body?
3. Since my e34 pan already has a windage tray in it, does that mean I can take the one off the m52 and just leave the one on the e34 pan?
4. Am I the youngest R3V member to do an obd2 swap? (17)1990 Alpine 325is

More questions.
5.Since I'm using my g260, I ordered a new g260 m20 throw-out bearing, will it work or do I need a euro 323i tob?
6. Which pilot bearing should I buy, m20 or m52?
7. Since this is my 500th post, does that mean I'm now a str8 r3v master?Last edited by BECKSTER; 07-29-2016, 10:15 PM.1990 Alpine 325is

You could delete it, plug the inlet and put a filter or something on the valve cover port, but there are many benefits to retaining it:
i hear people say that you get power gains by having a partial vacuum in your engine. im trying to understand why. i can only think of 1 advantage, and that is windage losses being less in lower air pressure. all other thoughts i had resulted in everything cancelling out. in a vacuum 2 the pistons on the downstroke will have less resistance, but the 2 going up will have more. there would be slightly more blowby which would be a power loss an explanation or confirmation would be great
M50 manifold is the forum fave, either with the M50 TB, or with the M52 TB + a metal spacer so the two gaskets aren't trying to seat against each other. M50 is easier to rig up cruise control with an E34 cruise cable.
Yes, but it might rub on the larger 84mm crank on the M52. Personally, I would drill off the E34 pan one and retain the one that was specifically for that engine/newer.

If you use a G260 and all M20 flywheel/pressure plate, you should only need the same TOB as before.
Match it to the transmission, Trans input shafts can be different sizes (Can't remember if G260 vs ZF are different sizes or not)
One can only obtain that title after successfully giving Blunt a reach around in a junked m3 you found while bakery shopping.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30Comment

Run on sentences.
I finally sourced a pick-up tube, deleted the AC compressor and line, got my ECU back from
"DesertBMW", sent my harness out to kadunza, and am now currently modifying my Porsche booster.
I have a question.
How safe would it be to run my mechanical fan/clutch on the m52?
Next I just want to give a big thanks to everyone for all helpful knowledge, info, tips.
Like I said earlier, I would love to get it running by the end of the month, I have a trip planned in September and would love to take the car, if I end up going electrical fan I'll pay any local who wants to come help me wire one up with cash and donuts.
Lastly, I finally sold my Fittipaldi's, and am on the hunt for something that will fulfill my stanceful desires. I hope I don't buy reps but if I do I'll at least buy the real rotas.Last edited by BECKSTER; 08-08-2016, 08:50 PM.1990 Alpine 325is

No need to run a mechanical fan. Install a cooler thermostat and make sure your aux fan works and you are good. I have my aux fan wired up to a fog light switch I put above my radio, only need to use it on hot days when I get stuck under 30mph.Current:

Would I need to detach it from the AC condenser, and re-attach it to the radiator?
I'm as noobster as they come.Last edited by BECKSTER; 08-08-2016, 09:07 PM.1990 Alpine 325is

I won't be running AC so I might aswell ditch the condenser.
How hard is it to install the e36 m42 switch unto the aux fan?
I'd like it to start cooling a bit sooner if it's going to be my primary fan.Last edited by BECKSTER; 08-09-2016, 11:23 AM.1990 Alpine 325is

My car is obd1 so Im guessing things are a bit different. Im unable to assist you there.
Dont worry about having it be your primary fan though. Im in minnesota, which is pretty comparable weather to you. And I only need to use my aux fan, even in traffic, maybe 3 months out of the year.Current:
