Almost done, got intake back on, replaced majority or rubber with silicone hose. I discovered that the oil return hose was split and leaking, not having the time to order a new one I decided to reburbish what I had. I have loads of -an oil hose and -11 was the perfect fit

          perfect tight fit.

Sooo very tired....new thermostat in the e23, runs very cool now. However it breaks up and back fires around 5500rpms.

Pulled valve cover off the e38 took like 3hrs just to strip the nasty paint off it and then the finish of the cast metal was way rougher than I thought it'd be so I just crinkle painted it.

Got the ecu back, new spark plugs, just need to finish one more valve cover and I can drive it!

Finally got the e38 done! Just waiting for it to cool off so I can recheck coolant levels

Been loving this on instagram. I've been flirting with the idea of an e38. An m-sport would be killer.

And knock sensor #4 failed........and its under the intake, and I have to pull the rear coolant distribution block off...... Literally the ONLY thing I didn't replace failed in 10 minutes.

Have you done the timing guides yet? or have receipts from previous owner? I've seen multiple fail before 100k. I'm sure you know this already but they are so very critical.

Well here's the thing supposedly the car has had like everything replaced, but you know here I am replacing just about everything the previous owner said was replaced... I do plan on doing the chain guides.
I did find that the knock sensor was fine and it was just the insulation that came off two wires giving the check engine light. 2 pieces of tape and the car was better than ever!

Subbed. All of the coolest looking 7's that were made.

Is the E23 an auto or 5spd?
