Jean, this is what every early model 318 wishes to become. you did fabulous with a car that few would touch. congrats.

and if you are tired of shifter slop, get a new shifter! the z3 2.8 shifter is still comfortable daily driving, but is tight and smooth when you have to autox.

Thank you! I've read through the short shifter thread and started a couple and I guess I am out of luck with my metal console so new oem shifter will have to do for now, got my fingers crossed.

Next run is 8/18;8/19 so I have some time to get the shifter fixed. I am basically leaning more towards ordering a complete new oem shifter/console and shift rod along with #16 just to make sure it all works together correctly. I can't imagine that it will still be bad after replacing all of that as there is really nothing else left there to replace ...

Quick little update - got some various little parts to clean up the interior/exterior a little.

New brake ducts with clips, e-brake handle, fuel pump gasket and cover, speaker grills and bolts, a/c heater to firewall gasket. also got the missing ps reservour gasket that goes under the lid to keep the ps fluid from spilling.

Finally got the correct interior window sills to replace the old ones with the chrome strips, oem boot, front indicator lenses, elephant trunk, a/c heater box to dash gasket, blower wiring, obc bracket, oil cap, clips to mount the trunk panel as my car didn't come with one for some reason.

New interior lights, e30m3 leather e-brake cover are next, and still not sure what shifter to order (too many options out there)... once I order the shifter and a selector rod bushing/clips (already have a new console, shift rod and mounts) then I can build the whole assembly out of the car and swap the whole thing all at once.

Keep the M10, rebuild and boost it. Those M10's can do 400hp no problem if they're built.

Shifter rebuild with all new hardware, z3 1.9. Install was pretty straight forward, I used all oem parts, except for the rear console mount, it's a solid mount instead of a rubber oem piece. Upper ball cup was cut with a sharp blade and installed, used two lower ball cups, sanded one down on a belt sander a few mm's to fit.

Before, stock shifter all worn out.

              New hardware

Installed, please excuse my dirty interior.

Some more oem stuff to make it "feel" new hehe.

Oem gas cap, mine was all metal with sharp edges...

                    e30m3 oem e-brake boot

I know I am going to catch shit for this, but oh well lol

New rear console and ashtray. Now I need a matching new front console and a dash j/k!

                    My lights were faded/cracked...

Need to get oem strut mounts and some h&r sport springs next.

So I got new belt buckles, ordered them per the pn# listed on realoem and didn't expect both sides to have wiring?

Damn it, realoem shows the wrong part number for the early cars. These don't fit my early belts....
