Well r3v my day started great. Got a fair deal on a M20B25 with G260, picked it up, got it home, was taking it off the truck and........................ about two feet from the ground I turned the handle the wrong way on the engine hoist........ bammmmm as I look at what seemed so full of promise and grab some paper towels to mop up the oil seeping into a black pool around my cracked oil pan. I wonder three things and the first is rhetorical.

        1. How could I be so stupid.
        2. Oil pan and transmissions mounts took the hit. What do I need to check and should I just pull the head and make a coffee table?
        3. How long until I find this funny?

I'm going to go try and mop up that oil now

Probably just need an oil pan... also a good time to remind you that maybe a skidplate should be ordered too, though your car doesnt really look too low

It's stock height but definitely a skid plate in my future.

Other then looking for fluid pouring out of the engine and transmission i don't know what to check

Buddy is a welder so I'm going to see if he can fix the pan

I was planning on doing a compression check but my plan now is.

                        1. Remove the transmission.
                        2. Install the motor onto the engine stand.
                        3. Clean everything and look for cracks.
                        4. Have a friend(certified welder) see if he can tig the oil pan.
                        5. Maybe buy a liquid penetrate kit to check for small cracks on the block.

                        What am I missing?

Looks like my bell housing took it on the chin. Can the housing be welded?

Looka like this already was welded or is that a factory seam?

Customer dropped his brand new Spec e30 engine about 3' from an engine hoist. Landed right on the crank bolt and broke the alternator bracket clean off. Stuck ity in and raced it at nationals.

Also, several of the racers don't even run that cover for the flywheel.
