    Dumb questions thread!

This thread is for my questions. I really hate to clutter with multiple threads that already have similar content. I assumed the forum wouldn't hate me if I kept all of my 'dumb' questions in one place.

Can I use MAF cleaner to clean the IVC?

When converting to e46 hubs, what is everyone using to reduce acriment angle? I am planning on running BCs for the new year and wanted to make sure I wouldn't have any "Why did I use the 4x100 hubs?!?!" moments. I am perfectly content with the brake options available with the 4x100, so aside from that, what would be other advantages? I plan on using e30 offset CAB, but flipped so I don't have tons of caster. Am I correct?

I also have a slight stumble, below 1.5k and above 5k. I will be cleaning MAF, adjusting valves, changing plugs, fuel filter, and coolant temp sensor? Any other leads will be looked into. The car was advertised with a JC chip, and with most CL adds, I assume it was a lie. Should I pull the 1.3 apart and check? Can this cause a stumble on 89 octane, as the JC required 93?

P.S. I do use the search function, frequently. If I am asking, the importation I find may be lacking, or I am looking for more feedback.

Stay tuned for the questions that shouldn't have been asked!

just use any regular carb spray for the icv

no comment on the e46 question

    for the stumble
first replace all the sources of a vaccum leak

    then replace the ignition system
    cap
    rotor
    plug wires
    spark plugs
    coil

still stumbles try replacing for a crank positon sensor from the actual dealership it comes with a metal housing.

      reduce acriment angle?
Why, any acriment angle reducer will work, of course-
don't spend more for BMW reducer.
I like it in cream form, myself....

      I had to Gargle it-

      Ackerman, you mean?
The hubs themselves won't affect Ackerman, only track width, and thus, scrub radius.
I never saw any reason to go to 5 lugs, but then, I am not a stretched poked wheel whore...

@iwantspeed - There were some fairly large cracks in the intake boot post MAF. So I am hoping that is my issue. Will be ordering one soon. Still planning on a small tune-up though. I also cleaned the MAF really well. I removed and cleaned the CPS, I thought it had abrasions on it, but it was just gunk.

@TobyB - I realized my spelling was off when I tried to google answers... haha. Thanks!
I guess people would value 5x120 over 4x100 when looking for large authentic wheels at the required sizes..

I realize the 5 lug swap doesn't add akerman (;D). I was trying to say (but I was at the job):
My plans are to run e46 control arms with e34 tie rod parts. So I would have the camber and a wider track.. But wouldn't I still be needing something to correct akerman? Or I guess I should say, reduce akerman for more skids?

Ackermann can certainly be impacted by a hub change. If the steering arms cast into the hubs are different at all, chances are the Ackermann will change as well.

How long are coolant hoses supposed to last?
I replaced all my coolant hoses in 2014. One of them just burst.

10 years I think is the recommended replacement interval, so something was wrong with either the hose itself, the installation, or the cooling system.

Well with e46 arms, the only angle that matters is, like, angle bruh.
