Using 1.6 for now, that will give me 0.565" lift intake and 0.574" lift exhaust.
We've got snow and ice coming in tomorrow, might have the day off. If I do I'll be installing the rest of the guide plates and studs while I wait for my push rods to arrive.

What's the ratio on those rockers? Good that you were able to upgrade the studs.Leave a comment:

Bell housing and clutch fork just showed up, all that I'm missing now is clutch, flywheel, and driveshaft.Leave a comment:

Confirmed I can use stock length pushrods, so I'll order those now.Leave a comment:

Got plenty of work done today. Lapped the valves in on both heads, and installed them. Spring height is good, going very smooth so far.

The cam parts I need will be here tomorrow, so I'll be finishing up the cam install, then installing the heads. Moving right along now!Leave a comment:

I won't be doing any porting on them, just wanted to be able to do 3/8" studs/guides, roller rockers, etc. I'll eventually go aluminum heads, so I'll be able to sell these on to another enthusiast I'm sure. GT40 and GT40P heads are pretty easy to find here in Austin, the junkyard has several V8 Explorers/Mountaineers.Leave a comment:

What do you expect to gain from the head work? You're a lucky guy getting your hands on some gt40p's, I've been in my garage home porting e7's just to gain whatever little flow I can

Went out to work on the heads last night, found that my overhead lighting was all dead
The florescent bulbs have been burning out one by one, right to left, since we moved in... The final one went... Pulled it out and there was a big hole in it, it went out with a bang I guess. Upgraded to LED's, but didn't have time to work after I got back.

Started putting the camshaft in, but realized the cam kit didn't come with ANY install hardware... so I had to order a kit and a new thrust plate from RockAuto. Should be here later this week.Leave a comment:

Found a T5 bellhousing on eBay this morning for $65 shipped, jumped on it.
I may look into adapting the E46 ZF trans to the 302 in the future, pulled that out of my 330ci 5 years ago, probably not a bad choice.
edit: And found a $22 clutch fork. Just need clutch and flywheel now.Last edited by Elysian; 01-10-2018, 01:14 PM.Leave a comment:

As far as I can tell, the pilot bearing of a 302 sits proud relative to the pilot bearing of an M20, and the G260 has a longer input shaft than a T5. I've seen them both separately plenty of times but never side by side so I could be wrong. That adapter plate thickness is probably necessary, not something to be made up for.Leave a comment:

I emailed Gilo engineering in South Africa. They make and sell a bell housing for the G265 to small block Ford for $241. With shipping I'd guess it'd be $300 all said and done. I don't know what G265's go for these days because I haven't found one for sale yet. There is a couple m30's at my local u pull it. I think they want $150 for a trans. I hear they are stupid expensive to have rebuilt.
I've read g260's can hold 500hp. I'd love to find an adapter for that since I already have a g260 laying around. I wonder what that guy did you make up for the thickness of the adapter.Leave a comment:
