I wonder how much a Getrag 265 goes for these days... between that and the bellhousing adapter it's probably not cheap.
This is what I was talking about:
A simple adapter plate has this guy's 302 hooked up to a Getrag 260. This is the option that would have me V8 swapped, but I can't find any info on it anywhere. It wouldn't be a terribly complicated piece to have one made custom, but it would require access to the engine and transmission for measurements and mocking up - something I don't have.
86 eta 5.0 swap...

Subbed! I'm at the exact same part in my swap. Going a different route with the brakes and suspensionLeave a comment:

I don't have a 265 to start with, but yes this is the one I saw previously.http://www.giloeng.com/
Part number: BF06G31
This will adapt a g265 to a 302. I believe you can use a standard 302 clutch kit. I have just started looking into this for my 331 swap. Both input shafts are 10-spline. I haven't figured out what to do for a pilot bushing yet but apparently this is a popular swap with racers in South Africa, so someone has a solution.Leave a comment:

I did see someone makes an adapter for the Getrag 265 to run on a 302, but was from another country, and quite expensive. That was what I wanted to do very early on.I believe an adapter plate would work, I recall seeing that someone had done it before but I can't remember where. Sounds like you're on track to get it on the road though, and that's what really counts. As long as you don't powershift or go to the drag strip I think your T5 will last a while.Leave a comment:

I've got a 260/6 from an M30, and a ZF from an E46, but neither have removeable bellhousings. Ideally I'd run a T56 or a TKO, but that's just not in the budget yet, especially considering all the $ I've already spent on a car that still hasn't even had a sniff of a 302 in it... Right now, I'm in "get it on the road" mode. Motor build should be done this month. I was going to run the 4R70W, but that's a humongous and heavy transmission, and I'm not even sure it would fit in the trans tunnel after massaging. I also would have needed a Microsquirt to run the overdrive, or a switch to manually enable it, makes the swap more complicated.Leave a comment:

Rated for 300lb-ft from what I'm seeing. I won't be racing it, it's just meant to be a stupid street machine...Leave a comment:

Have you looked into adapting the Getrag 260 to the 302? That's what I'd want to do with this swap. The 260 is definitely stronger than a WC T5.Leave a comment:

I know  won't use all that fuel, but for 90 for all 8 couldn't pass it up. Still, with my 400hp goal I'm aware the T5 won't last forever. It is at least one of the higher rated T5's.Leave a comment:

8x 42lb injectors? Seems like overkill. A V8 that uses that much fuel would crunch that T5.Leave a comment:
