Ha, small world. I drove 10 hours round trip to get that car, only to find out about all the damage as a surprise. I was planning to put an s52 and m3 5lug in it as well. He described it as a nice car with good paint, the front of the car had been painted poorly, same with a-pillars, and the hit went so far back the pass fender hit the a-pillar and the pass door didn't fit properly. Glad he was at least slightly more honest with you
(my comment about the hit was about his old touring he'd sent me a photo of).
Glad you're working it out, hope it comes together well. GL

That’s funny, But that sucks that you drove all that Way for nothing. I was only an hour away from them and I didn’t want to give up the car because of all the trouble I went through to get there and rent a trailer etc. etc., ha ha. But yeah I was hoping he would be a little bit more upfront with how tweaked the front of the car was. I just assume that his standards were a little different than everybody else’s and he was actually being honest with me and the car is nice enough for what I want to do. Way for nothing. Go download tapatalk and its a much better forum browsing tool. Spend a few bucks and get the ad free version and life will be good. Flickr is good but you need a desktop to properly host the pics here

oh didnt even realize you were trying to post from a phone, my bad. Flickr is a huge pain in the ass on a phone. Definitely recommend the tapatalk app for phone uploads for sure.

I was actually trying from a desktop, but the phone app is wayyy better anyway
After a long time of doing nothing with this project, I finally dragged the car over to the shop I work at and started getting this frame rail situation sorted out.
Lots of spot weld drilling, hammer and dolly work, and then after measuring the rails on a spare e30 body out back, I realized the frame rails were too close together, also.
So some work with portapower straightened that out...
Some progress on my transmission tunnel, which was damaged by the previous owner when the Guibo came apart... but made even worse by me, when I towed the car on a two wheel dolly with the transmission still installed in the car, and the transmission crossmember vibrated loose and fell down and caused the driveshaft to blow apart Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got the tunnel piece out of a rusty donor car which is getting cut up for parts for another project which I will also share later. Obviously the tunnel sections that I needed were not rusty, but the game plan changed halfway through the job hence the extra cuts horizontally on the tunnel parts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
More frame rail shots . This app is really a pain. Tried to change my profile pic, keep getting upload errors.. for some reason the last post uploaded two or three times... tried to delete the duplicates and the forum wants me to enter password, which I forgot again.. yet when I log out it’ll let me log back in automatically without needing a password lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And here’s what the rest of that parts e30 is being used for. The black e30 was used on the track and hit so many times, the rear quarters were a mess. Jeff (he owns that car) decided to section the rear half of the car. We aren’t a body shop but decided it would be a fun learning exercise. He’s working on that e30 while I fix mine, and we are both helping each other out along the way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
