Definately won't run in any stock event, that's for sure. You certainly have take a big step in fabrication there. What is your background in chassis building? Are you a circle type dude making transition to fast road cars?
Being your new how about a couple of hints.Comment

Great job, truly an inspiration. So you're going for hardcore racing or whats the ultimate goal?Comment

For everyone who doesn't know what's going on, here's a clue:
This is what's called "doing it right the first time". Stripping it all down and modifing it to a truely unique spec. I mean, moving the engine / tranny back, new rear mounts, the reenforcement, etc. This is some mad awesome work. I wish I had a garage to start a project like this with my e30...
I tip my hat to you sir. Truely amazing!

Question...
You're using an M54 head and block. Awesome. However, I'm just confirming that this too is an Al block, yes?
What are you going to run in terms of engine management? You going to have both VANOS units on that block or just intake or ripping them all out? Thanks!

got m54 without intake, wiring, ecu or anything, i throwed out cams, because in m54 they are infinitely variable ( double vanos), put in 525 m50 95y cams and vanos, ecu, intake etc, and bolted on remus headers and custom made exhaust. this combo got me around 230hp, but i think i run my orig injectors out of breathYou're using an M54 head and block. plans are that i will turbocharge this engine. will use m50 exhaust cam and m54 intake cam( more degree on exh and less on int and more lift on int) i dont know yet what management i will use ( i am interested in this: www.sdsefi.com ) also i never had any experience with turbos so i am studying this subject, not many info out there :(
as i an on extreme tight budget i will consider reusing m50 management with some adjustments, bigger injectors, bigger airflow sensor body, etc
and yes its alu block with insertsComment

This just goes to show that there are other options for Al block engines. The bore is the same as well so assuming the S52B32US crank will fit, It looks like 3.1L is possible as well. This is great news for a lot of people.
