Spent some more time in the garage today trying to get the interior back together now that I'm driving it. I worked on Dynamatting the rest of the rear of the car minus the trunk area. My goal is to just try and make the car interior as quiet a possible without going overboard with the sound deadener.

Everything you see here is just a single layer for the most part on both interior and exterior surfaces. After a brief test drive tonight I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the interior has become. It was well worth the effort.

Back in the day I used to compete in car stereo competitions and would spend months just sound deadening a car. I took one of the tricks that we used to use and applied it here as it works very very well. Just get some fiberfill from your local fabric store, buy a box of kitchen garbage bags, and fill accordingly. Squeeze all of the air out of the bag and seal with a zip tie. Now you have a vacuum sealed bag that you can mold into just about any shape. Take the bags and pack any voids that you wish. Try not to puncture the bag as it will expand and you also dont want this stuff to get wet at all.

And then seal the cavity with more dynamat.

I painted my very faded and very blue rear parcel shelf with Duplicolor fabric paint. Worked well...

Finally installed my mint rear seats with skipass/armrest/headrest that I bought about a year and a half ago. Its nice to finally see this stuff going in the car instead of just sitting in the basement.

And then while on my test drive tonight I snapped a few pictures.

wow, I guess I should have grapped the tripod...

              cant see any pics!!!

Perhaps I will fly straight to St. Cloud instead of stopping near the giant gold towers that compose the corporate district of Wayzata, and once housed Biscus industries before the horrible rawhide incident of '03.
