yikes. probably was the cat broken up and clogging the exhaust. at least your car is fixable and you didnt die in an inferno! glad yer still alive, and the car will eventually be tuned and a damn video posted up!!

Well i think the cat grenaded itself. I really have no idea why though. I mean i found remains of what seems to be the cat converter behind the car! Im thinking the cat grenaded and the muffler got clogged up and over heated hard core style and then shit started smoking.... I really have no idea though. I mean the muffler was BLUE idk if thats a byproduct from the fire or from it starting the fire.

I have some work to do just to see why it happened. It deffinetly wasnt the brakes. I was just chillin not even boosting and the car started bogging and it wouldnt accelerate. Then the smoke. I was too close to home to stop!!!!!

Im really glad i made the decision to drive it home caue i really really would have been screwed if it lit up somewhere else. I guess its time to get an extinguisher!

The weird thing is that i have probably 8 hours driving the car exactly how it is. Maybe i hit the cat a little hard and it started falling apart ... idk

wow man, what was the cause?? was it fuel related? or was the exhaust just getting too damn hot? thats really sucks, but like you said, if you werent close to home, your car would be KO.

Damn dude wtf Sorry to hear that shit man. Atleast youre ok you know becuase it couldve been worse. It sucks though after all that work that shit happens like that. Yeah... thanks guys. Im still bummed out and kinda pissed off but shit happens. Yea it got painted like last August. The paint kinda sucked in my opinion. Im going to learn how to paint a car now. The only way to have things come out the way YOU want is to do it yourself. I think 6 of 12 or 13 panels were fucked up paint wise. Oh wellllll

Well i had a great fucking day today. I decided to come home and pick up my MS stuff and my volt meter to see if i was actually maxing out the MAF.

So i start the car up, its hesitating a little bit but it went away. No worries. Then i get about a mile from my house and the car has NO balls at all totally not right, wont accelerate whole 9 yards. Then the car starts smoking I turned onto my road and the whole cabin was engulfed in smoke. i coulnt breathe or see out the windsheild. The locks were on the fritz so i had to hold the lock up to open the door. i coasted in my driveway with the car off and the door open so i wouldnt hit anything!

I hop out the car see flames about two feet high rolling off the rear quarter pannel (rear of the c pillar) and the paint on the trunk is bubbling. i grabbed my wallet, my cell phone, my backpack and my buddies innovate LM-1 out the car and ran to grab the hose. I had no idea where a extinguisher was!! So the hose came out and i hosed the car off till the fire was out. i popped the trunk and sprayed the shit out of that to remember my MS and my tuning lap top are in there!!!! No damage to the MS board it wasnt even wet but my computer got a little wet. Oh well it was a $50 laptop!

I honestly almost shit myself and i thank god i was in my driveway and not on the side of the road somewhere and the gas tank didnt catch on fire. That would have sucked even worse.

So the paint got melted off the rear quarter pannel and off the trunk. All the plastic in the driverside trunk was melted. I found parts of the cat converter on the ground. The muffler was BLUE from heat, the exhaust hangar was melted. All the underbody rubbed around the muffler is charred off the car. The driverside brake caliper is shot. all the rubber is melted and my stainless steel flexline popped too.
