Yeah its "lean" but with how little boost im running its not THAT big of an issue. Trust me, i havent hesitated to beat the shit out of it since i knew it was running semi decent this past summer. I havnt had any real problems from running it the way i have been. All the problems have been due to the fact that ive never been around FI cars let alone built one. Its all been put together from well educated guesses and whats worked for other people along with some ingenuity on my part. Sometimes that doesnt work so well haha... -

Haha thanks guys! Shes running alright. Really in need of some standalone ems though the BEGI is pretty lacking.
Its not really THAT unsafe. It gets to about 13.5:1 afrs up top but its around 12:1 at peak torque which is cool. Keep in mind im not really running much boost at all. Its only about 7-9psi usually. This is running no WG spring either :-x I need a larger wastegate and ems so i can tune for the boost i want to be running. Im pretty confident that everything would be fine if i could run 15psi safely (tuning wise).

Yeah, its possible. I think im going to have to come up with a shield for it soon.
There was definitely water in the last 4 plug holes though, which has been known to cause misfiring in these motors.Leave a comment:

So today i plumbed the wastegate back into the exhaust. The screamer was OBNOXIOUS. Its nice accelerating and not drawing a ton of attention to my self haha.
I pulled the wastegate spring out and went for a ride. Its raining so my test didnt go all that well. The only gear i can get to hook up is 5th and im making 10psi boost by 4k rpm HAHA. I got it to spin at like 80mph too which was interesting. I guess the super quick boost action isnt very traction friendly.
Any suggestions besides buy a tial 44?
Also totally rewired the electric fan. Before i was popping fuses like it was my job. I decided to run the fan off of the airbag circuit which was no longer being used by anything. So I set up a relay and hooked up a switch and wired the rad temp switch to it too. Works like a charm.
Also got to try MS with out the Tach-o circuit and its basically the same.Leave a comment:
