Yeah new coolant tank is on the to do list still along with a million other things. Im getting some volk CE28n rims for the track but if you can show me some rims you would prefer i might be interested. they will have to beable to clear the brakes though....

Very well built car, Josh. I have a technical question regarding the initial VW brake booster. I understand it did not offer much assistance. Then, what did you install to replace it? Do you still run the original smallish MC (which is better with this brake set-up) or did you go to bigger MC? How is the feel now?

No pictures of the install of the Mtech 2 kit sorry
Lee
with the standard calipers and i swaped the standard master cylinder back in it offered no assistance at all. i was actually worried about driving it because in an emercency it would be pretty silly. I was going to check the pressuer in the booster to make sure there were no leaks but figgured i would just see what happened when i put the big brakes on.
With the big brakes on, brake feel is back to the exact feel of the E30 before when i had race pads , refurbed series 2 calipers and braided lines with the 25mm master cylinder and standard E30 brake booster.
On the road the brakes make a massive nosie because of the compund pads i have in at the moment and the brake pedal is sensitive.
Cant wait to take them to the track to feel how the brake bias goes and braking under proper heat temperatures

When the pads (E compounds) haven't yet been subjected to some track use, they will indeed have a lot of grab when cold, to the point of locking the front wheels too easily. Once the pads have been worn in. They become way more gradual, offering a lot of modulation, even cold. Then, they will still be a bit squealy, but nothing unbearable. If you have purchased the front calipers with 1.38" pistons, then the bias should be close to perfect. Perfect brake bias depends largely on type of corners, weight distribution, and suspension stiffness. A few of my customers also have Euro S52 motors and front Race kits and they never lacked brake. I even suggest to close the airducts as the thick HD rotors like to reach a blue hue. Too cold and they will not offer proper braking and will not last as long.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Yeah i have heard they like to be nice and warm i was told to use no ducting for best performance until i get brake faid with which they wished me good luck in trying to get...heheheh.
yeah i was going to drive up the freeway for 20 minutes dragging the brake pedal for propper pad bed in as it allows heat to heat up the whole thickness of the pad not jsut the first couple of millemetersComment

Damn, that is one nice car. I am curious about the engine management. How about a little more info on it.

well installed a fuel swirl pot on sataday. bit of a pain trying to get it to fit under the car without having it close to the exhaust system. used a EFI swirl pot that i got from tweakit along with some new fuel lines, new efi hose clamps (they are slightly different), a walbro fuel pump and a volvo fuel filter.
