I loved reading your thread. It was a bunch of progress of your fix of your car. I just think you have to love your e30 to put in so much money into the car just to keep it running. My running total is $13500, and I still have cold start up and idle issues, only when the tank is full. lol, figure that one out.

I am in the same boat as you are just a little behind. I am in the process of sorting out a 1990 325iS that I bought in August. I am putting a dash in my car right now. I have to fix a water leak and replace the bumpers and get in inspected. I am sure there will be more to do after. The list grows ever longer. Keep up the good work.sigpic

Good to hear you are not getting into the racecar bullshit.
Street cars do not belong on a track, nor do track cars belong on the street.
E30s make great track cars, so if you want one, build one.
In the meantime, I think you should start getting some tools together, learn to do some shit yourself. Obviously, it is an interest of yours. Try it, you will love it!

I find it way more satisfying to wrench on my car myself. It can be frustrating at times, especially if you've never done it before, but it is definitely worth it in the end. Hell, it took me almost 6 hours to change my clutch slave and brake master cylinders, but I felt so good about having done it myself.

If you drive your e30 on stairs, you're gonna have a bad time.

I've done all the little things I can do myself, but I don't have the resources to do other things. If I had the tools there would be no way I would not be doing it myself. I just need to rack up tools.
I want to do the body work on my car and get it resprayed by a friend. Actually, I prob will be doing this.
Anyone in the northern bay area/California want to get together and work on each others cars, etc?-Pierre
