    Also, an old head bolt with four cuts along (perpendicular to threads) the body of the bolt can be used for chasing those threads, after they are cleaned as above.

    so i guess i will be of help, fill those head bolt holes with peniatrant/degreaser/etc and let it sit for a few hours, then flip the block so they drain and repeat.

    Get those as clean as you can cause if they are filled with old oil which there are now, cause all m30's do it. You can crack the block when tightening down the head.

    look at all the dremel marks. Could cause a change in compression by .001cc's.

    Kind of a small and dull update, but I managed to get the time to clean a piston today. It took longer than I thought. 1 down 5 to go


    Tomorrow I'll be picking up the m3 exhuast and within the next few days I'll drop off the pile of parts to be cold tanked

    A little bit of an update for now. I got a b35 oil pan, pickup and pump to fit over the power steering rack.
    (b34 on left, b35 on right)

    I prep'd one side of the block for paint. It may not look like much of a progression, but I made sure to thoroughly clean it especially in the corners to make sure every part of that block is ready for paint. And it is, or at least that side. I still have to do the timing cover and the other side of the block but it's looking better! All that's left on this side in the pic is old paint and cast iron, no grease.

    I also put a deposit down on an e30 m3 exhaust. 2-in 2-out cat is exactly what I want. This exhaust will be the next best thing to a one-piece exhaust. It goes directly from the tailpipes to the headers. I'll pick it up this thursday and get it looking nice.

    Curious, the captions says 4-Tuerig, or 4-door, which would suggest '85 or later. Seems that they held on to the 'retro' radio for at least a few years...

    Interesting... I don't have this brochure. The Picture I posted up was in fact an e30 brochure. And I posted up a part number! How do people still doubt it? I can understand why people think it's not period correct, it is very retro.

    I've got the "BMW Ultimate Driving Experience" cassette tape. Came with my Glovebox Manual Wallet. That along with Cassette Cleaning Kit.

    That radio is sweet. Are you running a analog clock or an obc?
