Looks great Andrew. All it needs is some new kidneys.

Haha I would buy your new kidneys, however I'm getting a brand new windscreen in a week. It's going to be the windscreen with the "green shade band". The green shade band was an option on all e30's and is the most expensive glass. It came standard on all Cecotto M3's. I still have the original windscreen on my car and i'm sick of all the pitting and haze. It should make a huge difference

what are the benefits of it and where are you able to purchase it?

          umm.... Being able to see?

Dirty glass really makes a car look old. When driving into the sun, I see so much pitting and haze I can barely see out of it.

If you're talking about the green shade band, it just blocks the sun slightly. Every newer car has one standard. Look up some pics of the Cecotto M3 and look at it's windscreen.

You can find any windscreen at any BMW dealer. A lot of people on here have to understand I get my parts from 2 places. The Dealer, or used from somebody on here. Almost ANY part for your e30 can be bought from your dealer

The manuel hasn't helped yet, but it will when I need to retro-fit my slider. Thanks for it!

Are you sure you have the green band? Every e30 has a very small green band thats maybe 3 inches wide but the "green shade band" is like 7 inch wide or something and was a rare upgrade. It very may well have it I'm just curious, i've never seen it besides on cecotto m3's

windshields that don't have the green band are not OEM and are an aftermarket replacement. At least thats what my autobody shop tells me. I gotta replace mine when I spray my car.

My e30 has a replacment windsheild in it and it has the blue/green color band in it along with my PPG replacement has it also. My 85 e30 had the original windsheild in it and it had a yellowish band across it. I think it's pretty much standard to have that band of tint across the top when you get a new windsheild now unless its for a older car from the 1970's and back when you could have a all clear windsheild and the tinted one was a option.

Yea I can see in your sig, you have the thick green band used on the Cecotto M3. All e30's have a very slight green band, but if you look at JasonC's sig you can see his is thicker and this was the option. So whoever said it above, you are right, if there isn't a green band at all, even a small one, it's aftermarket.

There were 4 types of OEM glass available

Regular glass (has very small green band at top)
                        Brown Tint
                        Green Tint
Regular with Green shade band (has thick green shade band used on Cecotto M3's)

More info and pics will come. Big paycheck comes on the 10th, windscreen ordered on 10th, need to buy the bavauto lockstripper and figure out the specifics of the safest way to transport it from the dealer to my house, but I can't wait!

Are you getting stock glass or M3 glass? M3 glass is differently shaped and needs a different gasket, lockstrip, and pillar covers, IIRC. It also needs to be glued in since it's stress-bearing.
