    The s50... is done

    Several months later, my 3.1liter s50 is finally finished. Built it from bare block to this on saturday:











    Sorry no assembly pictures, once I start working, i dont stop to take pictures. Thoughts on color choice?

    It is an 87mm bore with maxsil 10.5:1 (stock oversize) pistons, block was tanked bored, crank cleaned and polished. Head was completely disassembled, cleaned, hand lapped each valve, installed new seals. All new bearings and seals. Cleaned and polished all vanos moving parts. Waiting on donor parts from the m50 in the car now to be fully complete. Dont know when it will be in the car, hopefully soon, but I still need to get software, and some upgrades.

              Its replacing the m50 in my e30. I am hoping for 270 crank with 3.5" maf, 24lb injectors, and turner software. I'd like to get cams at some point, but im going to have to work on flywheel/clutch, and some other things.

                              Nice build. Im not feeling the color since Abe already did that green on his motor in a black car.
                              Something different would have been cool.

                                  I was between a few colors on this engine, obviously just about every color has already been done, so its tough to be different. The other color choices would have been indigo blue or purple, and both were a little darker and wouldnt stand out off the black near as much, so no different it isnt, but there arent that many done in green.

                                  yes mz3 tails are nasty, never forgave dad for putting those on his car.
