so i havent done to much to the car the past few months. untill about a month ago i was driving along and everyhting is fine. suddenly i start to lose power, this is all of five min after i fill tank so i know its not out of gas. finally car dies. after getting towed home i look and find no broken rocker, no bent valves, nothing wrong in the head. so i pull the head. find this:
alot of rot around the oil and coolent seals and one of these:
cracked, and pretty bad. so i need a new gasket. being low on cash at the moment its been waiting. hopfully i'll get the money i'm owed this weeked so i can get the car back up and running.

well my DD blew up today so tomorrow is gonna be a one day full rebuild of the e30. paint is not done but its going to have to wait. lucky for me the head bolts came in today so i can get this motor put back together and hope to have this thing running by this time tomorrow.
a few pics of the paint/ body work. yes it does suck but im young and this is my first car body work/ paint job. me and a buddy are doing all the work. the paint is FAR from perfect but for a free paint job i can live with it. all body and paint done by me or my freind dom.

got everything back together yesterday, but now I am facing a HUGE fuel leak. i turned the car over and it tumbles but no start. I get out and smell gas, look around and see gas dripping off everything in the subframe on the drivers side. I still have yet to find the exact spot where the leak is, it looks to be where the hard line meets the soft line. i will be fixing this tomorrow. the car sounds much strong already though just tumbling over. that head gasket was really bad compared to the new one. I know what you're talking about as far as running an air duct to you cone filter. If you want more cool air coming to your filter just remove the driver side high beam bulb. Probably just as effective as running an air duct, which isn't really effective at all. Plus you'll get lots of attention from people asking "what happened to your headlight?"West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.
