Small progress today... again... so little to do, but slowly working on it.
I drilled and tapped the intake manifold for the brake booster and that other little thing. I used a heater hose connector off the auto parts store (3/8 NPT). It was like $4, so no biggie.
We bent the throttle cable bracket so the throttle cable isn't stretched, and the car (when it wants to) idles at around 900-1100, which is fine by me.
Now the only pending issue are the brakes and the coolant temp sensor. I believe we need to re-bleed the brakes some more as it still feels like there's air in the line somewhere. (Pedal is super soft, not a lot of braking going on)
The coolant temp sensor is off an e30 325i, which after cross referencing with RealOEM, the M20B25 uses it's own CTS for the ECU purposes. I remember that the CEL light came on instantly after I switched those sensors, but I always associated with the (at the time) disconnected O2 sensor.
New coolant temp sensor will be delievered tomorrow morning.
Next on the list is an alignment, which I should hopefully accomplish tomorrow.
And definately in the very very very very very near future will be a muffler. This thing is just way too loud.
Had the HD camcorder on me today so took some pictures:

Enjoy!

I'm interested in how you did it. I don't have a lathe and it would be nice to be able to DIY the solution.
e30spdfrk: space out the tie rod on the inside so the physical stops (the inner tie rods) are up to 4mm farther than they used to be. You'll have to get an alignment to space the outer tie rod in more, but thats the basic idea.
Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!Comment

its literaly just a spacer on your rack to push out tie rod

works good!
also Erick whaat QR are you using?

Take measurements. I had to take all the measurements and take them to the machine shop. If anyone is interested, I can have a pair of them made and sent for $40 shipped.
What's a QR? If you mean quick release, it's a Top Secret one.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

Nope, no issues, but I am running a pretty low offset wheel to not hit the sway bars.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

did you drill the booster hole with the mani still attached?Comment

Yup, I like to gamble heavy. All in or fold.

PS: Having some serious crazy shop vacuum also helped too :p
And yes, we've already ran the motor for over an hour since the drilling and it's fine... I made sure it was clean inside (I removed the TB to see the inside as we drilled)Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube
