Only if you promise to love and to cherish it in sickness or in health

When I get bored of it you can just take it to drive until you get bored of it. I offered the vert to JakeM to drive to cure his 02 sadness but he said he needed his own hoopty

idk why we don’t all have hoopties that we trade back and forth

It’s actually pretty dang good for just over a grand, compared to the blissfully/optimistically rust free BAT e30s that have never been exposed under the carpet or behind the passenger side trunk paneling

rust free? Nah. Good enough to enjoy safe and dry as a daily for years to come? Sure is

If a man never learns to align expectation and reality, he will always be stuck in the purgatory that lies in between them

Excellence/perfection is a beautiful and necessary thing, but I’m learning that it’s relative and pliable

“good enough” is a phrase I’ve gotten quite comfy with over the past few years and it’s opened up a whole new world of experiences and enjoyment I was once blind to

idk if i have a lean burn tune in me but yeah that's the goal. Just going to do a universal standalone with rusefi and splice it into an already hacked motronic 1.3 harness I have

When I get a new project I think about how i can use some of the junk I have lying around to make something. This idea seems like good clean fun. 2009 style

I feel like a nicely sorted/stock-ish but very imperfect daily would be good for your soul

I had the idea to keep the m20b27 in this car and convert it to a motronic 1.3 harness/ICV, add an m20b25 throttle body (which would include opening up the b27 intake manifold for it), putting m20b25 exhaust and manifolds on it, and putting a cheap standalone in it to do something different

    thank you! she's coming along

    ------

The question of the day is, how does one turn down an $1100 running/driving manual e30 that isn't rusty?

White iS is slowly becoming less hoopty.

Car is back to being a roller with a new fuel system!

Dropped the subrame assembly and did stainless lines f&r, sub bushings, TA bushings, billys, bavauto springs, enlinks f/r, new fuel tank, fuel filter, all new rubber lines for the fuel filter and pump, etc. Finished off the front end with new e36 tie rods, e36 centered rubber control arm bushings, new control arms, and rebuilt e36 rack. Please pretend you don't see the generic hose clamp on the tank return line, i ran out of genuine clamps

Motor will be ready to drop in once I throw on the exhaust manifolds tomorrow. Shifter linkage rebuilt as well.

    Things are coming along.

haha yeah it is definitely getting worse. As a wise man once said, "The Plot Thickens"

Onward and upward man. Ready to put this kind of shit behind me. GF thinks i have a second GF because I haven't stopped working on the car at the warehouse since it got here

yep- the goal was to not have a big project with this one so i paid up for what i was told was a good one which didn't turn out to be a good one

it's okay, the only local shop that will work on e30s charges $195/hr, and I'm doing this one for -195/hr, so its all good

maybe instead of self employed taxes this year i'll file as a charity

in other news, once i dropped the tank tonight the 2005 petrol (now varnish) smelled so bad i had to put it outside #justran
