Section 7.
If they have formally denied, looks like you need to sue. You can try to run it up the flagpole with customer service and see if they will change their position, but I see no administrative appeal process. Make sure you have complied with all of the rinky dink requirements - preserve all packaging and all other info/evidence spelled out in there.

Just because "that's how they were shipped from Germany" doesn't mean shit.
If you bought insurance, I would think they would have some serious 'splainin to do.
UPS and Fedex are famous for using the "improper packaging" dodge to get out of paying claims. Their guidelines for what constitutes proper packaging are pretty shitty- if you go by the guidelines, shipping in anything other than a brandy-new never been used box constitutes improper packaging.

I hear people swear by them but I've had a lot of problems with FedEx, they can't seem to find their ass with both hands.I'm Not Right in the Head | Random Rants and other Nonsense1st Order Logic Failure: Association fallacy, this type of fallacy can be expressed as (∃x ∈ S : φ(x)) → (∀x ∈ S : φ(x)), meaning "if there exists any x in the set S so that a property φ is true for x, then for all x in S the property φ must be true".

Back to blunt, I quoted the lawyer part because thats what I would do. I'm sure you can play hardball with the shipping nazis. Keep us posted on the rest of the balance.-tim
